RACE 5:ROMA VET CLINIC BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP - 1640M

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to enable Stewards to view the photo finish print of the dead-heating runners for 2nd place. After viewing the print stewards were satisfied with the placings.

Correct weight was further delayed when the connections of one of the dead-heat second placegetters, GOLD CROWN lodged an objection against JACARANDA PRINCE being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final stages. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, bearing in mind the minor degree of interference suffered to GOLD CROWN, the proximity of the incident to the winning post, and the half-length margin between the runners at the conclusion of the event, Stewards could not be satisfied that a reversal of placings was warranted and therefore the protest was dismissed.

JACARANDA PRINCE – Bumped by another runner near the 100m. Commenced to lay in over the concluding stages and made contact with another runner.

GRAND EDGEROI – Began awkwardly. Commenced to lay out under pressure near the 100m and made contact with another runner. Over the concluding stages was tightened for room.
