On return to scale a protest was lodged by the Chief Steward on behalf of the 5th placegetter, BOBBY BE GOOD, against ALPINE STYLE being declared 4th, alleging interference near the 300m. In all the circumstances stewards were satisfied that the interference suffered was sufficient to reverse the head margin between the runners at the finish and therefore upheld the objection and correct weight was semaphored the placings: No. 2 – Trustee – 1st No. 6 – Lady Denman – 2nd No. 7 – Wicked Temptation – 3rd No. 3 – Bobby Be Good – 4th.
