Race 1: Martin Jonkers Motors Maiden H'cap – 1600m

SHE’S A UNIT - The start was delayed after becoming fractious in the barriers and striking its head. After undergoing a veterinary examination the mare was cleared to start. Overraced in the early stages before being restrained from heels near the 1400m. T. Brooker, rider of ISLAND EMPIRE, was reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear.

BRIGHTNBREEZY – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and near the 500m had to be steadied from heels.

MUSHIN – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

PALEFACE ALI – Raced greenly in the home straight and shifted ground on a number of occasions.

SUNCANSING – Raced wide.

UNDOUBTEDLY GRAND – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.

ISLAND EMPIRE – Hung out throughout the event. Trainer N. Hocking was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.

LORD CHAMBERLAIN – Rider L. Rolls reported that, in his opinion, the horse raced flat and was somewhat disappointing despite finishing the race off moderately.

CRACK OF DAWN – Jockey K. Wharton reported his mount laid in throughout the race.

Race 2: Rotary Service Above Self Maiden

RED WORLD – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

DISORDER – Slow to begin. Raced wide until a point approaching the 1000m.

BOWLER LANE – When the pace slackened in the early stages overraced until approaching the 1000m.

LADY ATHENA - When the pace slackened in the early stages overraced until approaching the 1000m.

ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Approaching the 350m was disappointed for a run to the inside of another runner and was tightened for room, making heavy contact with the running rail and being severely checked.


Race 3: Lindsay Transport QTIS 3yo F&M H'cap – 1200m

The start of this race was delayed in order to hold for an interstate venue.

PASSION IN FLIGHT – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the filly would be ridden more forward in today’s race. The horse subsequently settled in a midfield position.

DIAMONDINE – Slow to begin.

LIBELULA – Obliged to stop riding over the concluding stages when inconvenienced by another runner.

KAITLIN COVE – Steadied from heels leaving the 600m when held up for a short distance. Laid in under pressure from the 400m. Raced wide.

WALTZ IN FLIGHT – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running after passing the 600m and until leaving the 450m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

BELLEVUE AVENUE – Raced wide.

DAM WONDERFUL – Raced wide without cover.


Race 4: Caboolture Sports Club Maiden H'cap – 1200m

CIRCUIT BREAKER – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of M. McGuren as the rider of the horse.

PERFORATION – Became fractious in the barriers and kicked out, getting its off hind leg caught between the back gates, suffering abrasions to its fetlock. After undergoing a veterinary examination, the gelding was declared a late scratching at 2.45 pm. All monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions to apply.

3 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #7
2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #11

BIG SAGA – Raced greenly throughout.

LIPS LIKE JAGGER – Raced wide without cover.

MOSITES – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Rotary Club Of Caboolture Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1000m

TIME TO EXCEED – Slow to begin and tightened for room shortly after the start.

MY BLING – Held up for clear running after passing the 400m. Disappointed for a run leaving the 300m and shifted out to secure clear running at that point, and was then tightened for room approaching the 100m, having to be steadied.

JET DOWN ON IT – Hung out rounding the home turn.

Race 6: Rotary Supporting Foodbank Class 1 H'cap – 1000m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by D. Browne, rider of the 3rd placegetter, Deconstructed, being declared 2nd, on the grounds of interference in the final 100m. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol video stewards were satisfied that LADY DENMAN shifted out under pressure making contact with DECONSTRUCTED, causing the rider of that horse to stop riding and restrain his mount. Stewards were satisfied in the circumstances that had the interference no occurred DECONSTRUCTED would have beaten LADY DENMAN, and as such upheld the objection and amended the placings and declared correct weight. At a subsequent inquiry, T. Brooker, rider of LADY DENMAN, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when shifted ground.

EGIPTIENNE – Put its head down as the start was effected and as a result was slow to begin.

SEXY DIAMOND – Raced wide throughout. Pulled up lame in the off hind leg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

BOBBY BE GOOD – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced 4 wide without cover.
Race 7: RC Bribie Island/Bisley Farm Class 2 H'cap – 1200m

COUNTER MEAL – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Held up for clear running for a short distance passing the 200m.

LOADED AND READY – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.

MIDNIGHT CURFEW – Steadied from the heels of WE’RE READY, which shifted in near the 800m. In this incident, MIDNIGHT CURFEW shifted wider on the track, forcing another runner wider. M. McGuren, rider of WE’RE READY was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

HEART OF THUNDER – Forced 3 wide near the 800m and raced 3 wide without cover from that point.

DESERT GENERAL - Held up rounding the home turn.

MONSTER OF ENERGY – Obliged to steady from the heels of MIDNIGHT CURFEW after passing the 400m. B. Stower, rider of MIDNIGHT CURFEW, was reprimanded for shifting ground when not fully clear.

GUMDALE BOY – Raced wide.


Race 8: Silver Lining Foundation Class 1 H'cap – 1400m

SCRAP COPPER – Jockey T. Bell was stood down by the doctor and was replaced by J. Byrne. Slow to begin.

GUNDY STORM – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground, resulting in jockey T. Harrison making contact with the cross bar of the barriers. Jockey Harrison was examined by the doctor following the event and ruled to have suffered no ill effects. Steadied from heels passing the 700m.

MONACO PLAYBOY – Jockey M. Cahill reported that when racing wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and assume the lead passing the 800m. He indicated it had not been his intention to lead in the event.

EULO – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

HENRY’S CROWN – Momentarily steadied passing the 200m.

WESTERN BELLE – Raced wide without cover.

REAL ROCKER – Raced wide.

VINTAGE COGNAC – Rider L. Tarrant reported his mount hung out throughout the race. A post race veterinary examination indicated the horse had a slower than normal recovery rate.
