GENERAL
Due to a major vehicle accident on the Bruce Highway which resulted in significant travel disruptions, all race times were rescheduled back approximately 1 hour later to be: Race 1. 7.38 pm; Race 2. 8.08 pm; Race 3. 8.38 pm; Race 4. 9.08 pm; Race 5. 9.40 pm; Race 6. 10.10 pm.
Race 1: Seaview Apartments H'cap – 1000m
SO IMPATIENT – Slow to begin.
WILLOYD – Slow to begin.
SHELTER LADY – Slow to begin.
RAPID BOY – Bumped heavily at the start.
FYNNSTAR – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover.
SIRTIME – Began awkwardly. Raced 4 wide without cover.
CHARJAC – Steadied when momentarily crowded near the 250m.
Race 2: Suncare Community Services Maiden H'cap – 1400m
SAMMY SPARROW – Stood awkwardly in the barriers and put its head down as the gates were released and missed the start badly. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its barrier manners.
LA DIOSA – Bumped heavily shortly after the start.
LA LA ROCK – After being crossed in the early stages raced keenly for some distance.
CLEAR REFLECTION – Raced 3 wide from the 900m.
Race 3: Core Business QTIS 3yo Maiden H'cap – 1200m
STEAMPUNK – Connections advised the colt would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse subsequently raced midfield.
CUTTING JET - After arriving at the barriers was found to have blood in its mouth. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Steadied when awkwardly placed near the 700m and following this hung out for some distance.
NEW YORK SOX – Slow into stride. Restrained from heels near the 800m.
POETIC SHOW – Slow into stride.
OUTBACK STORM – Raced 3 wide without cover.
FLAMBE – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering from heat stress.
Race 4: Myer Maroochydore Class 1 H'cap – 1200m
KIRSTEN COVE - Examined by the veterinary surgeon after arriving at the barriers and cleared to start.
MANKINI LOVE – Examined by the veterinary surgeon after arriving at the barriers and cleared to start. Slow to begin. Awkwardly placed inside heels rounding the home turn.
CIRCUIT BREAKER – Slow to begin.
LADY DUPORTH – Began awkwardly.
DEEKS – Steadied when crowded for room by CLANDISE (A. Allen), which shifted in over the final 50m. A. Allen was reprimanded.
CLASSIC ELEMENT – Raced 3 wide without cover.
Race 5: Lallemand/Guide Dogs Queensland Class 3 H'cap – 1800m
After arriving at the barriers, K. Wharton was concerned with the horse’s action. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon, the horse was deemed unsuitable to race at 9.36 pm and the following deductions applicable.

4 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #2

VAN HOOLIGAN – Jockey P. Romeo was reprimanded for striking his horse with his whip prior to entering the barrier.
STAR FORMATION – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Jockey N. Day was fined $200 for returning to scale overweight.
JUST KEEP GIVING – Slow to begin.
WITHOUT GRIEF – Caught wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward and cross to the lead near the 1400m.
After the race it was noted that the attendant tending STAR FORMATION, whilst holding its tail, had attempted to encourage the horse to jump with the use of his left foot. Stewards were unable to determine whether or not contact was made. The matter however was brought to the attention of the SCTC Executive for any internal action they deem appropriate.
Race 6: Integrale Homes Class 1 H'cap – 1600m
DANZER GIRL – After being crossed in the early stages the mare refused to settle for some distance.
INTERIM APPROVAL – Raced 3 wide without cover from the 900m.
MILITARY LADY – Hung in in the straight and proved difficult to ride out.
NEAR THE CITY – Apprentice S. Payne was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
