Race 1: Allchin Airconditioning & Refrigeration Maiden Plate – 1000m

SACROMONTE – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of B. Ainsworth as the rider of the horse. Significantly tightened for room at the start and had to be checked.

PLAIN TRUTH - Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with another runner. Raced wide without cover.

FLASH DRAGON – Tightened for room between runners at the start and had to be steadied.

EXCITEMENT LEVELS – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner.

JAMMO JACK – Tightened for room and had to be checked near the 700m. Stewards inquired into this incident and established that KAHNEMAN, which was racing to the inside, commenced to overrace and shifted out. At the same time, EXCITEMENT LEVELS, which was racing to the outside, was taken in by WAR HAMMER, which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. In all the circumstances, stewards felt that whilst D. Griffin, rider of WAR HAMMER, could not be held entirely responsible for the incident, he nevertheless was reprimanded and reminded to allow further clearance when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

ACE STRYKER – Slow to begin. After leaving the 700m was obliged to steady away from the heels of JAMMO JACK after that horse had been checked. Held up for clear running after leaving the 500m and rounding the home turn, and was then inconvenienced after passing the 300m and obliged to alter course.

LAUDABLE LEMON – Jockey L. Londregan reported that his mount raced greenly throughout whilst positioned wide on the track.

REMEMBERING FRANK – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 2: Monaco Resort Maiden H'cap – 1400m

INGEEGOODBE – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey M. Cahill reported that he had anticipated riding in a more forward position, however he was slow to begin and was obliged to pressure his mount throughout the event to hold a position. He felt the horse handled the rain affected conditions and finished the race off reasonably well under pressure. Jockey Cahill added he was of the view INGEEGOODBE would be better suited to a step up in distance.

BEXSTAR – Slow to begin. Shifted wider to improve near the 700m and raced wide without cover from that point onwards. Apprentice S. Eilbeck reported that the horse had a tendency to lay out from the 600m.

HEROIC ROCK – Steadied when inconvenienced by the weakening SNAPPY IMPACT near the 1000m.

SUSHI OLE - Apprentice B. Ainsworth reported his mount raced greenly throughout. Raced wide without cover.

LUJAC – Raced wide. Jockey A. Spinks reported his mount, in his opinion, did not handle the rain affected conditions.

VINDICATED – Raced wide.

GLIMMERING WORLD – Raced wide without cover. Apprentice M. Murphy reported that his mount hung out throughout the race

AQUAJEWEL – Lost its near fore plate in running.

DOUMBEK – Jockey D. Griffin reported he was obliged to steady in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the fence which resulted in him being positioned further back in the field than he would have liked. He added that the horse then commenced to overrace after passing the 1000m and was inclined to lay out until entering the home straight. He added that, in his opinion, the horse was not comfortable in the rain affected conditions.

EQUISTAR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 4: Number One Quality Homes Class 1 H'cap – 1200m

JACQUERIC – Prior to correct weight being declared, stewards viewed the footage and ruled that JACQUERIC had been awarded a fair start and declared the horse a runner.

EGIPTIENNE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

UNIQUE PEARL – Slow to begin.

MORINGA’S TOOTSIE – Had some difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn.

OUR RACKETEER – Raced wide.

ROSIE POSIE – Apprentice R. Johnston-Bell was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

TARZAN – Laid out from the 600m until entering the home straight.

Race 6: Scott McMahon Electrical Class H'cap – 1600m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by jockey N. Tomizawa, rider of the 4th placegetter, MATTY’S GIRL, against ST REMY being declared 3rd and IN THE KITTY being declared 2nd, alleging interference rounding the home turn. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and after viewing the stewards’ patrol videos, stewards established that both MAGICAL PRINT and MADDY’S GIRL were both placed in restricted room and had to be steadied between IN THE KITTY and ST REMY, which after having shifted out to secure clear running was taken slightly wider by AUDELLA (S. Eilbeck). Stewards were satisfied therefore that IN THE KITTY which had been placed 2nd had not had a bearing on the incident and that any shift from ST REMY had been influenced by AUDELLA shifting ground. Furthermore, stewards could not be satisfied that the interference suffered was sufficient to affect the placings and therefore dismissed both objections.

AUDELLA – Jockey M. Hellyer, rider of IMPULSIVE WAYS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that he allowed his mount to shift out under pressure near the 200m, resulting in a tightening to AUDELLA and that horse making contact with the hind quarters of ST REMY, causing that horse to be turned in slightly, further tightening the running of AUDELLA, resulting in AUDELLA being checked. Jockey Hellyer was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 9 days, to commence at midnight, 12 June and to expire at midnight, 21 June.

HOT HYPNOSIS – Held up for clear running after passing the 550m and until being obliged to steady and alter course back to the inside approaching the 450m.

Race 7: McGrath Estate Agents Winter Prov. Stayers Series – Heat 5 BM 75 H'cap – 2200m

KOBI CREEK – As L. Dittman was indisposed, B. Ainsworth was substituted as the rider of the horse.

ZAFIKI – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in the second half of the field in today’s event. The horse was ridden accordingly.

MANDRYKA –The start of this race was delayed when the horse got its near hind leg caught up on the barrier partition and became cast. After undergoing a veterinary examination the gelding was found to be lame in the near hind leg and subsequently declared a late scratching at 3.50 pm. All monies invested on Mandryka were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

8 cents in the dollar for the Win #6
8 cents in the dollar for place of winner #6
8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #1
9 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #15

SP bets are subject to deductions

Connections of MANDRYKA were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided for the horse prior to its next race start.

WIMPOLE STREET – Slow to begin. Placed in restricted room approaching the 1800m and made heavy contact with the running rail and had to be checked. An inquiry will be held into the reason the horse had to be checked at this point. Held up for clear running from approaching the 600m until 350m.

KOBI CREEK – Placed in restricted room near the 500m and had to be steadied.
