The start of this race was held for another venue.

HOORIYA – Overraced for a short distance when the pace slackened leaving the 1100m.

WOLFITDOWN - Shifted in shortly after the start and made heavy contact with another runner, becoming unbalanced. Soon after jumping away, whilst being restrained, raced greenly until near the 1300m.

BRONZED VENOM – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Access Insulation Sunshine Coast Maiden Plate – 1200m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by apprentice S. Fawke, rider of the 3rd placegetter, ZOFF OF THE WORLD, against PURSUITS being declared the winner, alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards’ patrol film, stewards were satisfied that the interference suffered at the 150m by ZOFF OF THE WORLD could be attributed to the horse’s racing manners, in that when under pressure the horse hung out, resulting in it being placed in an awkward position at the heels of PURSUITS, which laid in, however stewards did not feel that the shift from PURSUITS was a major contributor to the incident and therefore dismissed the objection.

ZOFF OF THE WORLD – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously throughout the event and laid out under pressure in the home straight before being steadied from heels near the 150m and shifted wider to secure clear running.

DIAMONDINE – Jumped away awkwardly.

TOP PEAK – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages before having to be shifted from heels near the 600m. Had some difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight until the 200m.

HIDRIFTER – Held up for clear running from the 400m until 200m.

PURSUITS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SHUGAR BEL – Raced wide without cover.

Race 3: All Pest Qld Class 1 H'cap – 1000m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by apprentice B. Stower, rider of the 3rd placegetter, ADERITO, against CARAMIDA DE AUR being declared 2nd, alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol video, stewards were satisfied that at a point near the 150m, ADERITO was inconvenienced on a number of occasions, which resulted in its rider being forced to stop riding and steady. Stewards were satisfied that this interference was as a result of CARAMIDA DE AUR hanging out and were also satisfied that had the interference not occurred, ADERITO would have beaten CARAMIDA DE AUR to the line and therefore the the protest was upheld and the Judge’s placings amended to read: No. 6 – JETINTOIT – 1st ADERITO – 2nd CARAMIDA DE AUR – 3rd PERIPHERAL – 4th. Stewards also ruled that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of CARAMIDA DE AUR.

JETINTOIT – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

CLAIM THE THRONE – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start and became unbalanced and raced greenly for a short distance.

PLAIN TRUTH - Inconvenienced by another runner near the 500m.

CARAMIDA DE AUR – Commenced to hang out approaching the 400m and continued to do so for the remainder of the event, causing its rider to be unable to fully test his mount over the concluding stages.

PERIPHERAL – Tightened for room near the 100m and was obliged to steady . Raced wide without cover.

Race 4: Bolack Publications Pty Ltd Class 3 Plate – 1800m

SWEET BUCK – Raced wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to take up a position outside the lead passing the 1100m.

JUPITER PALM – Raced wide without cover.

KAZAN – Raced wide.

COLD BLOODED – Obliged to alter course to secure clear running near the 500m.

MARTIAL ART – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Byrne stated that after enjoying a favourable position just behind the lead, the horse travelled well throughout the race, however when asked for an effort after passing the 500m failed to respond and did not run out a strong 1800m. Trainer Mr G. Burns was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance, adding that he would have tests performance on the gelding in the coming days and would report the results to stewards. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 5: Higgins Coatings Qtis 2yo H'cap – 1200m

OUR CINDERELLA – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden more positively out of the barriers in an attempt to take up a midfield position. The horse raced accordingly. Raced wide. Had to be checked near the 200m when tightened for room to the inside of STOLE THE SHOW, which shifted in, and NO ANNAMOSSITY, which was taken out by BOLD SHOT. Stewards took evidence from all riders involved and whilst they were satisfied that a reprimand should be levelled against apprentice C. Jockic as she allowed her mount to shift out, inconveniencing NO ANNAMOSSITY, they could not be satisfied that she was entirely responsible for the interference suffered by OUR CINDERELLA and took no further action. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind leg.

CUSHION PINK – Buffeted by other runners shortly after the start and lost ground.

SMART DEVIL – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied, losing significant ground.

STRYKING STUNNAH – Overraced in the early stages.

TREASURE GALLERY - Bled during the event. Connections were advised that the horse would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.

Race 6: Secure Access Pty Ltd Class 2 H'cap – 1200m

ASHGROVIAN – Slow to begin.

STAR JUSTICE – Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Jockey J. Byrne advised that the gelding had to work hard outside the lead, however he was still disappointed with the performance as the horse weakened badly in the home straight when asked for an effort after passing the 400m.

KEEP ON ROCKING – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Jockey G .Goold reported he would have liked to position the horse in a more forward position, however after suffering interference in the early stages he was obliged to be positioned in the second half of the field.

BUKEKAYO – Jumped away awkwardly.

JETASAN – Raced wide without cover.

CABANA BOY – Jockey R. Fradd reported his mount hung out from the 600m.

Race 7: Flying Start Syndications Benchmark H'cap – 1400m

GET ON – Slow to begin.

Race 8: Quality Plastic Products Class 1 H'cap – 1400m
