Race 1: Ursin.dk Hairsalon QTIS 3yo HHcap 1600m
 
PINCH PASSION Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner and lost ground.
 
BRAINS Bumped by another runner at the start.
 
WAS IT WORTH IT Shifted its off fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 2: Surf Dance Apartments Coolum Beach Benchmark 80 HHcap 2200m
 
CONSTANT RETURN Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Trainer B. Hill advised that in light of todayys performance the horse would be sent for a spell.. Stewards however advised that a further barrier certificate would be required prior to its next race start.
 
MUSTARRID Jockey M. McGillivray reported that it had not been his intention to lead by such a margin in the early stages, however his mount overraced badly until approaching the 1200m.
 
STANLEY Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISS ARABELLA Had difficulty securing clear running over the final 100m.
 
 
Race 3: Yaroomba Beach Ratings Band 0-70 HHcap 1000m
 
UPSTART Declared a late scratching at 1.05 pm on veterinary advice after the horse became fractious in the barriers.. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.
 
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
1 cent in the dollar on the face value off 2nd place bets
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of 3rd> place bets
 
Connections were advised that a barrier certificate must be obtained for the horse prior to its next race start.
 
THE MECHANIC Slow to begin. Held up momentarily near the 150m, and then was unable to secure clear running over the final 100m.
 
VAULAIT Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover.
 
JUST ORM Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DIETERS Raced wide throughout.. Jockey T. Patel reported that the horse had choked down during the event.. The horse also blundered badly near the 200m.. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer R. Heathcote indicated he would experiment with the addition of a tongue-tie prior to the event.
 
TARZAN Placed in restricted room near the 700m and had to be restrained.. Shortly afterwards commenced to overrace and shifted wider on the track.
 
THE AMBASSADORE Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 4: Coolum Caprice Open HHcap 1200m
 
LAUTERBRUNNEN ? Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Jockey T. Patel reported his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
BECKHAM Bumped by another runner on jumping away.. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAN OF HIS WORD Laid in badly in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage.
 
 
 
Race 5: Suncoast Valuers Open HHcap 1800m
 
FAST ARROW Significantly slow to begin.
 
SABKHAT Slow to begin. Overraced from the 1600m until approaching the 1200m.
 
CAUTHENNS POWER Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer C. Munce stated the gelding was ridden against instructions at its last start and overraced, and as a result did not finish the race off.. He added that the gear change for todayys race of tongue-tie off and crossover noseband on were also factors in the improved performance.
 
NUDGEE Raced wide without cover until approaching the 800m.. Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 300m.
 
LORDAG Steadied to avoidd heels approaching the 400m. R. Stewart, rider of CAUTHENNS POWER, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
 
Race 6: C3 Accounting & Advisory F&M Benchmark 75 HHcap 1200m
 
FINAL OVER Overraced in the early stage and when restrained from heels near the 1000m shifted wider and as a result raced 3 wide..  Stewards questioned apprentice jockey S. Lacy regarding her riding of the horse, particularly in the home straight when it appeared she restrained the horse after leaving the 400m and had some difficulty approaching the 300m. She indicated the horse was hanging out badly, which was uncharacteristic for the mare.. Stewards in reviewing the film accepted the explanation. Trainer Mr P. Duncan was also interviewed.. He indicated in light of todayys performance, the horse would now be sent for a spell..  Stewards advised Mr Duncan the horse would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be coughing and had a poor post race recovery.
 
TREASURE GALLERY Overraced from approaching the 800m until approaching the 500m.
 
HELLAROO Broke its bit lifter when proceeding to the barrier.. After consultation with connections, it was decided to allow the mare to race without that piece of declared gear. Lost its near hind plate in running.
 
MY GIRL HAYLEY Lost its off hind plate in running.
 
 
Race 7:: Bell Potter CG&E Benchmark 75 HHcap (2) 1200m
 
EKKLESTONE Jumped away awkwardly and lost significant ground.
 
ZAHSPEED Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover.. Stewards sought an explanationn from jockey J. Lloyd regarding him racing away from the fence throughout the race. He indicated that connections had instructed him to ensure he was wider on the track when entering the home straight as they were of the view that the ground closer to the rail was inferior.
 
HELAROCITY Inconvenienced shortly after the start and then overraced when the pace slackened near the 1000m.
 
BEAT STREET When asked to comment on the horsees below market performance, he indicated he was satisfied with the position he obtained throughout the event, however when asked for an effort in the home straight, the horse was immediately under pressure and proved very disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 8: Coolum Business & Tourism CG&E Benchmark 75 HHcap 1200m
 
JETSONIC Stood flatfooted at the start and lost significant ground. A warning was placed on the horse regarding its barrier manners.
 
GRAND EMPEROR Overraced badly in the early stages.
 
I AM THE SCULPTOR Overraced in the early and middle stages and raced wide without cover.
 
DEEP IMAGE Stewards questioned jockey M. Cahill regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages.. He stated thatt he had been instructed to take up a forward position, and after not beginning well he rode forward to obtain that position and gave consideration to continuing to the lead, however when an opportunity presented itself to take up a position forward of RAJA AMPAT near the 900m he elected to restrain in an attempt to obtain cover behind the leaders. He indicated whilst the horse raced with its head in the air, he did not feel the horse was significantly overracing and when able to obtain cover the horse did settled.. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
 
Race 9: Coolum Getaway Resort Class 3 Plate 1400m
 
HUNDRED Tightened for room at the start.  Checked near the 500m when disappointed for a run when attempting to shift wider on the track.
 
THREE POINTS Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SCRABBLE - Slow to begin.
 
RAGGLE VARR Overraced when the pace slackened approaching the 900m.
 
TAKARAKKA Held up from the 600m until entering the home straight.
 
NO ANNAMOSSITY Disappointed for a run after passing the 400m before shifting back to the inside to secure clear running.
 
SHELTER LADY Tightened for room leaving the 300m and then had difficulty securing clear running over the finall 100m.. Raced wide without cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near fore canon.
 
MARSILLE EN FLEUR Laid in under pressure in the home straight, causing its rider to shift out near the 200m to avoid heels.
 
I AM IMPRESSED Raced wide. Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount changed stride on a number of occasions throughout the event and did not travel comfortably.
 
DONNT DOUBT MARLEY Raced wide.
 
GREGORY Raced wide.
 
 
Race 10:: Yaroomba Beach Benchmark 85 HHcap 1400m
 
WAR BABY Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
CAPETOWN HUSSEY Overraced after passing the 1200m and until approaching the 800m.. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was obliged to alter course near the 100m to secure clear running.
 
IMPREGNABLE Overraced for a short distance passing the 1000m. Raced wide throughout.
 
SENTIMENTAL PRINCE Overraced for a short distance passing the 1000m.. Raced wide throughout.
 
MYSTIC OPAL Had difficulty securing clear running for a short distance passing the 300m and again near the 100m.
 
WAR JET Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
