Race 1: Caloundra RSL Class 1 Plate – 2200m
 
EVOLO – Overraced after passing the winning post on the first occasion.  Bumped heavily by another runner after passing the 800m and forced wider.
 
GOLDEN SHEAF – Overraced after passing the winning post on the first occasion. Raced wide until passing the 1300m.
 
KIRA’S BEAT – Raced 3 wide without cover until assuming the lead after passing the 1000m.
 
SCHWARZY – Steadied from heels after passing the 800m when the pace slackened.
 
STORMY LEO – Improved onto heels after passing the 800m and had to be checked and shifted out, making heavy contact with another runner.
 
PROTEST – Placed in restricted room near the 700m and was obliged to restrain.
 
 
 
 
WAKE UP VICTA – Placed in restricted room approaching the 100m and had to be eased when SCHWARZY shifted in under pressure.  Apprentice C. Gallagher, rider of SCHWARZY, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances when his mounts shift ground under pressure.
 
PIRATE GAME – A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which finished a distant last, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 2: Access Insulation QTIS 3yo H’cap – 2200m
 
DELANEY’S DESIRE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SHE SALUTES – When being restrained in the early stages raced ungenerously. After passing the 1200m when the pace was only steady was shifted wider on the track and permitted to stride forward 3 wide and secured a position trailing the leaders at a point passing the 900m.
 
SURPRISE BULLET – During the early stages when attempting to be steadied to secure cover, overraced badly before being permitted to stride forward to the lead passing the 1500m.
 
RED PHANTOM – After passing the 1300m when the pace was only steady was shifted wider on the track and permitted to stride forward 3 wide and assumed a position outside the lead.
 
CABIERRO – When asked to comment on the overall performance jockey Cahill stated that he elected to allow SURPRISE BULLET to cross after passing the 1600m and when this horse was steadied he was obliged to restrain, forcing his mount further back in the field than he would have liked. He stated the performance was nevertheless disappointing as when asked for a response the filly did not quicken as anticipated and only finished the race off fairly.
 
 
Race 3: Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks  4yo & Up Maiden Plate – 1000m
 
KENTUCKIES BEST – Trainer G. Cornish was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
MEANER – Fractious in the barriers before being slow to begin.
 
OUR MOMENTO – Fractious in the barriers before being slow to begin.
 
CLOWN IN THE MOON – Laid in in the early stages. Jockey S. Cormack reported his mount was under pressure from the 500m and commenced to yield ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
BACHELOR’S ART – Improved onto heels near the 500m and had to be steadied.
 
SHE’S A MITZY – Apprentice T. Williams reported her mount laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
HIDDEN ACTION – Raced 4 wide without cover.
 
Race 4: Sunny Coast Race Fest Class 5 H’cap – 1000m
 
HIRTSHALS – Stewards questioned trainer Mr B. Smith regarding the improved performance in winning today.  He indicated whilst the mare has won on rain-affected tracks previously, he said,  in his opinion,  it was a better horse on firm ground, and  believed at its most recent start  did not appreciate the heavy track surface.
 
DANSU – Slow to begin.
 
ROCKY SUPREME – Had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight from the 300m onwards.
 
DEVILS PINCH – Raced wide.
 
WONDER BOOM – A post race veterinary examination revealed an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer P. Butterworth was advised a veterinary certificate must be provided, including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 5: Butler McDermott Lawyers Class 3 H’cap – 1200m
 
VOULAIT – Slow begin. Bumped near the 1100m and became unbalanced. Near the 300m, whilst weakening, was placed in restricted room for a short distance.
 
KULABA – Shifted in near the 1100m and made heavy contact with another runner.
 
I AM IMPINGE – Shifted out and made heavy contact with another runner near the 1100m.
 
JETSONIC – Inconvenienced on a number of occasions in the first 200m and then raced 3 wide without cover.
 
SOCIAL CONQUEST – Jockey R. Stewart reported it had been his intention to lead, however was unable to muster sufficient speed and was forced to race wide for the majority of the race.  Was obliged to shift out to avoid heels shortly after passing the 400m.
 
PRESSWAY – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted as the horse settled back in the field, apprentice J. Murphy indicated that from the wide barrier draw he had been instructed to try to obtain cover and it had not been his intention to settle as far back as he did, however  was obliged to do so in order to obtain a position closer to the fence.   He added his mount would have settled closer to the lead with a more favourable barrier, and would benefit from a step up in distance next start.
 
 
Race 6: Eumundi Lager Class 3 Plate – 1600m
 
SHIELD WALL – Slow to begin.
 
TIME LORD – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn. Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
SEA THE SPARKLE – Placed in restricted room and had to be eased near the 50m. Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
EXPERTEA – Lost its near fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 7: Hot 91.1 CG&E Ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1400m
 
PICK OF THE PUBS – Slow to begin. After overracing in the early stages, shifted wider and raced 4 wide without cover.
 
SUPER SHOES – Slow to begin.
 
WEONA NICCONI – Raced wide.
 
AUERBACH – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
BIANTIC – Raced wide.
 
OVERLAP – Trainer P. Duff reported some minor lacerations  due to  scalping to its off hind leg.
 
 
Race 8: Yalumba F&M Ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1400m
 
GET ON – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer T. Thomas for the late declaration of rider for the horse. Near the 250m improved on to the heels of the weakening MACHO PICCHU and had to be checked.
 
LA CHATTE – Slow to begin.
 
MACHU PICCHU – Commenced to overrace from the 1300m and continued to do so until clipping heels and blundering near the 1000m, almost dislodging its rider, causing apprentice H. English to lose the use of her reins, her off side iron and drop her whip.  Shortly afterwards, the horse shifted wider on the track and improved quickly to a position outside the lead and race 3 wide without cover.
 
LUCY LE ROC – Had difficulty securing clear running after passing the 300m and was obliged to steady from  heels near the 200m when disappointed for a run.
 
HIDDEN BUDGET – Raced wide.
 
INDY SHOWGIRL – Raced wide.
