SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Ipswich Race 4 - 15/12/21. Mel Sharpe stable representative for R Heathcote advised that Better Get Ready has muscle soreness in its hind quarters and it will receive treatment before determining its next race start.
 
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following Jockeys to ride overweight.
Race 1 – Andrew Mallyon (Perfect Mission) plus 1/2kg at 55kg.
Race 1 – Boris Thornton (Mingle) plus 1/2kg at 54.5kg.
 
 
Race 1: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
Mishani Warfare – Slow to begin, hampered and lost ground. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Protest second against first lodged by Jockey A Mallyon rider of PERT MISSION (2nd placegetter) for alleged interference over the final 50m. Stewards after considering the evidence and noting the close proximity to the finish line dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the judges’ placings. Jockey J Morris was charged pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m and was fined $300. Jockey J Morris was subsequently examined by the club doctor and stood down from his remaining engagements after complaining of pain in his right shoulder. Jockey J Morris was advised that he would require a medical clearance prior to riding again.
 
 
Mishani Persuasion – Began awkwardly then inconvenienced when MINGLE shifted out.
 
Golden Artie – Over raced early and middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn and until approaching the 200m.
 
Sneaky Starter – Bumped on jumping then tightened and lost ground. Cast the near fore plate. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Perfect Mission - Raced wide throughout.
 
Enzina – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Even Now – Raced wide throughout.
 
Li'l Misshonkytonk – Slow to begin.
 
Mingle – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced wide throughout.
 
Yankee River – Slow to begin. Raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Obliged to alter course near the 200m to secure clear running.
 
Race 2: STANLEY RIVER THOROUGHBREDS Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed when THE SICILLIAN BOY was late into the enclosure after necessitating a late riding replacement and further delayed when THE SICILLIAN BOY required resaddling behind the barriers.
 
The Sicillian Boy – Trainer Daniel Mortimer was fined $100 for failing to notify a rider within the prescribed time. Raced wide throughout.
 
Licence To Thrill – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Dusty Diamond - Raced wide throughout.
 
Star Chance – Apprentice Z Lloyd was charged pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m and was fined $300.
 
 
Race 3: JPI LININGS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
Rhapalong – When restraining near the 900m to obtain cover over raced for a short distance.
 
Diamond Lass – Rider Ron Stewart reported that his mount was making an abnormal respiratory noise. Post-race veterinary examinations could find no apparent abnormalities.
 
Gossip Column - When restraining near the 900m to obtain cover over raced for a short distance. Raced wide throughout.
 
Immediate Response - When restraining for cover near the 700m raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
Laylah's Wish – Began very awkwardly, almost dislodging its rider before making heavy contact with SMASHINGPLATES.
 
Smashingplates – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
Lassell – Declared a late scratching at 7.10pm on veterinary advice after it reared and was momentarily cast in the barriers. The follow deductions to apply.

Realaide – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Mishani Bandit – Raced wide throughout. Jockey R Maloney reported that his mount was inclined to lay out from the 800m.
 
Laide – Bumped near the 400m and forced wider before being steadied from heels.
 
Race 4: KBL THOROUGHBREDS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
Winter Rain – Tightened between runners and inconvenienced.
 
Miss Too Fly – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 5: ACCESS INSULATION FRASER COAST Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed when SOLVUS and MEGLIO both required resaddling behind the barriers.
 
Bailey Boo – Late scratching at 3.12pm on veterinary advice.
 
Beanhugged - Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Critical Thinker - Steadied from heels leaving the 800m when over racing.
 
Solvus – Steadied from heels leaving the 800m when over racing.
 
Meglio - Trainer Natalie McCall was fined $100 for failing to notify a rider within the prescribed time.
 
Nidaros – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
Race 6: STANLEY RIVER THOROUGHBREDS QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1600 metres
 
Kipling's Journey – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Our Hot Friend – Slow to begin then hampered between runners and lost ground.
 
Kalpana – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Game Star – Over raced early then raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 7: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSINE COAST Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 62 –1000 metres
