GENERAL
 
Following his riding commitments after the running Race 7, rider M Murphy was found guilty to a charge of misconduct pursuant to AR228(b) in that he consumed an alcoholic drink within the precincts of the jockey communal area while the race meeting was still in progress.  M Murphy was fined $500.

Race 1: SUNSHINE TOYOTA Maiden Plate 1600 metres
 
NEVER MORE POYSED – Slow to begin.
 
COMETTI – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
COPPERCHINO – Raced three wide throughout the event.
 
LATELY – Began awkwardly, was bumped and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn before obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
MAGIC MIKEY – Over-raced when racing three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader approaching the 800m.
 
STAR CHANCE – Laid in passing the 800m and brushed the running rail.
 
YANGARI – Slow to begin.
 
DIAMOND DAGGER – Raced three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to lead the event approaching the 800m.
 
CAOIMHE – Held up for clear running at the entrance to the home straight. Disappointed for a run approaching the 100m between MAGIC MIKEY and DIAMNOND DAGGER and was then Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.  
 
IRRESISTABULL – After being unable to fulfill commitments at the Toowoomba meeting on 11th June, Apprentice M Kennedy was examined by the Club doctor and cleared to ride at today’s meeting.
 
Following this event, the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
Race 2: SKY RACING QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden
Handicap 1200 metres
 
JOLLY RUPERT – Slow to begin. Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event.

BOLD ENFORCER – Began awkwardly. Hels up for clear running rounding the home turn. R Wiggins, rider of BOLD ENFORCER, was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
UNO WHAT I'M SAYIN – Slow to begin. Rounding the home turn became awkwardly placed at the heels of VIGO VISION before shifting out a short distance later to obtain clear running.
 
HEART OF MARBLE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
MONT ROYAL – After being fractious in the barriers, reared as the start was effected lost significant ground. Trainer G McCauley was advised a warning would be placed on MONT ROYAL’s barrier manners. Near the 250m obliged to steady when racing in restricted room to the inside of HEAR HEAR which laid in.
 
HEAR HEAR – Laid in under pressure near the 250m before being steadied off heels approaching the finish line.
 
Race 3: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden
Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 2 minutes when several runners proved difficult to load.
 
KIRELLA SHORES – Began awkwardly and jumped out at the start bumping ROY’S ROAD. Near the 800m steadied from heels when racing in restricted room.
 
GODRA – Began awkwardly and jumped in bumping PERFECT LEGACY. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SABALENKA – Brushed by PERFECT LEGACY rounding the home turn.
 
YOURALLTHAT – Momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of PERFECT LEGACY at the entrance to the home straight and became unbalanced.
 
ELESPRIT MISS – Bumped at the start with CLOUDY MISS. Checked approaching the 800m when racing in restricted room and lost ground.
 
HARD OFFER – Slow to begin. Over-raced for a short distance near the 800m. Near the 300m was awkwardly placed at heels when laying in and had to be steadied.
 
OUT BACK BOOM – Began awkwardly. Bumped rounding the home turn and became unbalanced.
 
CLOUDY MISS – Bumped at the start with ELESPIRIT MISS. Inconvenienced and lost ground near the 800m. Obliged to steady from heels when racing in restricted room near the 250m.
 
ROY'S ROAD – Bumped at the start and taken outwards.
 
VONZITHER – Bumped on the hindquarters at the start by ROY’S ROAD. Leaving the 900m was checked from the heels of GODRA.  D McGillivray, rider of GODRA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that approaching the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of VONZITHER which had to be checked. The license of D McGillivray to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 18th June up to and including midnight 28th June 2022. Raced wide with cover for the majority of then event.
 
MISS BONTASTIC – Raced wide with cover for the majority of then event. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
PERFECT LEGACY – When moving onto the track contacted the outside running rail, underwent a veterinary examination on arrival behind the barriers, and was cleared to start. Bumped at the start. Laid out rounding the home turn and brushed SABALENKO.
 
SWANIC BOOM – Taken in approaching the 800m and had to be steadied.
 
 
Race 4: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS Colts, Geldings & Entires
BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
GRANDIOSO – Began awkwardly.
 
SHALAA KING – Bumped at the start.
 
ZEELUCK – Jumped in at the start and bumped SHALAA KING. Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 5: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
SHE'S A TIGRESS – Raced four wide for the majority of the event.
 
BRAZEN PRINCESS – Jumped in at the start and bumped EXEMPT. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed the horse had bled from both nostrils for the second time. Acting under the provisions of AR 79(6) BRAZEN PRINCESS will now incurve lifetime ban from racing.
 
CHERRY SODA – Slow to begin.
 
INNERVOICE – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
TALLAHASSEE LASSIE – Raced three wide throughout.
 
EXEMPT – Bumped at the start. Near the 800m shifted in and away from SHE’S A TIGRESS and bumped GALA RAIN. Raced three wide throughout.
 
GINGER MULE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MASSABIELLE – Raced three wide throughout.
 
GALA RAIN – Bumped near the 800m.
 
 
Race 6: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA OPEN Handicap 1400 metres
 
CRISTAL BREEZE – Held up momentarily leaving the 300m before shifting to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
ADMUND BOY – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer A Campton was advised ADMUND BOY must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
THE IRONS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
MORETHANNUMBERONE – Began moderately.
 
SMOOTH MOVE – Near the 250m, when under hard riding, was disappointed for a contested run to the inside of CRISTAL BREEZE and was obliged to steady. Stewards reminded S Cormac, rider of CRISTAL BREEZE, that whist both riders were contesting the same run he should be mindful of shifting ground in similar circumstances.
 
NICHOLAS ADAM – On arrival barriers the saddle was readjusted.
 
Race 7: LIEBKE BUILDERS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1400 metres
 
TAIRUA – When asked to comment on the performance, rider T Brooker stated the horse travelled comfortably outside the leader however when placed under pressure was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal post-race recovery.
 
SISTER KATHLEEN – Slow to begin.
 
GRAND SHANGHAI – Rider M Murphy, rider of GRAND SHANGHAI, was reprimanded under AR132(6)(c) for use of the whip on a horse out of contention.
 
 
Race 8: BARRIER REEF POOLS Class 1 Plate 1600 metres
 
CALCAREOUS – Stood flat footed at start and lost ground. Trainer L Abbott was advised CALCAREOUS must trail satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
SIR WILLIAM BRUCE – Held for clear running until near the 300m.
 
FINSCEAL – Slow to begin. Trainer C Munce was advised a waring would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
 
INORDINATE OPINION – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
GRACIE BLUE – Slow to begin.
 
LUCKY BEAN – Laid out under pressure for short distance near the 150m before being corrected by its rider.
 
PRICKLY POPPY – After being held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight was again held up for clear running from the 150m for the remainder of the race and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.
 
PRINCESS SALLY – Raced wide throughout.
 
MARLA JANE – Following the disappointing performance a post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B Baldwin indicated it would be his intention to now consider the immediate racing future of MARLA JANE. Stewards advised Mr Baldwin that MARLA JANE must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start should it continue racing.
 
MY TARANAKI – Slow to begin. Trainer T Maloney was advised a waring would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
