GENERAL
 
Stewards accepted the reasons for the late declaration of rider for EPIC PLAYER engaged in race 7.
 
Race 1: BARRIER REEF POOLS Maiden Plate 2200 metres
 
AMERICAN PIONEER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
DEVINE FALLS – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the middle stages and shifted wider at the 1000m and raced three wide from that point onwards.
 
GRINZINGER HULK (NZ) – Bumped at the start and lost ground.
 
MEDIEVAL CROWN (NZ) – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
NO MORE RED – Shifted out at the start.
 
PETRILLO (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider B. Thompson was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times before the 100m.
 
ROYAL GEORGE – Raced three wide from the 1400m and was then forced wider at the 1000m.
 
WANDILLA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised that the gelding would be sent for a spell.
 
BONLOE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2: ALL ASPECT SPRAYING OPEN Handicap 1000 metres
 
THE MOVE – underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection on arrival at the course due to being delayed in traffic and was cleared to start. Momentarily inconvenienced leaving the 200m when LA AMIGO shifted out under pressure. Rider J. Orman advised that gelding was disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MORT DOYLE – Slow to begin.
 
SUPERARE – Began awkwardly.
 
LA AMIGO – Shifted out under pressure leaving the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
HODGSON – Raced three wide from the 600m.
 
TA CHANSON – Laid in at the 800m.
 
ORIENTAL RUNNER – Raced three wide throughout.
 
Race 3: DIGITAL VISION DIRECT QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden Plat 1000 metres
 
ASHIKO BAY – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
BOLD HUSSAR – Bumped at the start.
 
HOBSY – Shifted in at the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider L. Tarrant reported the gelding hung in for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary revealed no abnormalities.
 
JOHNNY CAN DANCE – Slow to begin, hampered shortly after and lost ground.
 
KINTAMANI – Bumped at the start. Raced three wide throughout.
 
PANTHER POWER – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SIDESTEP ME - Raced three wide throughout. Rider R. Fradd reported the gelding got its tongue over the bit. Connections advised they would add a tongue tie prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary revealed no abnormalities.
 
SIR CARTER – Began awkwardly, crowded for room shortly after and lost ground.
 
Race 4: GRAMBOWER CONCRETE CONSTRUCTIONS QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Pl 1000 metres
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed owing to ANOTHER DIMENSION undergoing a veterinary examination.
 
ANOTHER DIMENSION – Underwent pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers after contacting the outside rail leaving the mounting yard and was cleared to start.
 
BOCHKAREVA – Approaching the 200m laid inwards and became awkward at heels. Approaching the 100m shifted inwards to avoid the heels of RUBY CHICKS which shifted out under pressure.
 
BOHO BRAVE – Bumped at the start. Blundered approaching the course proper.
 
CALL ME MARILYN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
IAMRUSTYPARKER – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
NAOMI'S REIGN – Raced wide.
 
NORTHERN PLAYER- Shifted out at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be displaying clinical signs of cardiac arrythmia. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance inclusive of an ECG report shall be furnished prior to completing a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to being permitted to start again.

RUBY CHICKS – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5: SCOTT MCMAHON ELECTRICAL Class 4 Handicap 1200 metres
 
DEFERENCE – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the early stages.
 
KNOCKKNEE - Raced in restricted room at the 1000m and had to be steadied.
 
DREAM SONG – Slow to begin.
 
ROSE OF SEBRING – Slow to begin. Approaching the 1000mhad to be checked from the heels of TINDER. Apprentice J. Cornish, the rider of WINE NOT ROSES, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) in that she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of TINDER causing that runner to shift in to avoid heels and resulting in ROSE OF SEBRING which was racing to the inside of TINDER having to be checked by its rider. Apprentice J. Cornish had her license to ride in races suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight the 4th of October up to and including the 15th of October 2022 before permitted to resume riding in races on the of 16th of October 2022. Apprentice J. Cornish was advised of her right to internal review. Over-raced in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
TINDER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the tie up stalls and was cleared to start.
 
Race 6: SUPAVIEW SECURITY & SUNSCREEN Class 3 Handicap1600 metres
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed owing to DARING MAN requiring farrier attention on arrival at the barriers.
 
THINK HIGH - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DARING MAN - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PIZZO – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
FIRST SON – Leaving the 200m was taken inwards by PIZZO which shifted ground under pressure.
 
I AM WINKLES – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
 
Race 7: GO TRANSIT MEDIA GROUP Class 2 Handicap 1000 metres
 
ELECTED (IRE) – Slow to begin.

KAT CHINNA – Bumped at the start.
 
RELIABLE RUBY (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BULSARA – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide throughout.
 
 
Race 8: TAB Class 1 Handicap 1300 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed after PERFECT QUALITY became fractious once loaded into the barriers resulting in rider L. Tarrant injuring his foot and being unable to fulfil his engagement. PERFECT QUALITY was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 5:10 pm. Upon declaration of correct weight stewards ordered all bets placed on PERFECT QUALITY to be refunded with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
1st PETER THE PIPER - 5c win, 11c place.
2nd BORN A WARRIOR- 3c place.
3rd ALANTIC ROYAL - 10c place.
 
Rider L. Tarrant was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to riding again.
 
EDIFICATION – Hampered at the start. Laid in approaching the 300m and had to be steadied from heels.
 
PUNT YOUR WAY OUT – Began awkwardly and shifted outwards bumping BORN A WARRIOR.
 
BORN A WARRIOR – Bumped at the start.
 
EUROMANTIC – Hampered at start.
 
ANGEL GRACE – Slow to begin.
 
SELLING SUNSET – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider R. Fradd reported the gelding had a tendency to lay in throughout the event.
 
CLAUDIUS – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Raced three wide throughout.
