SUPPLEMENTARY

Race 4. STARDOME – Stable representative B. Killion reported that the gelding pulled up well on returning to the stable and will now be sent for a spell.
 
 
GENERAL
Stewards approved the following overweights:
Race 1. J. Stanley +0.5kg
 
 
Race 1: PROMO GEAR QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
WESTERN HALO – G. Cartwright commented at scale that the gelding may not have handled the soft going and was disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
ROADTRIP – Fractious in the barriers. Bumped with VALTINO on jumping.
 
VALTINO – Bumped with ROADTRIP on jumping. Jockey J. Stanley commented on returning to scale that the filly was disappointing in its effort.
 
SEBRING GIRL – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Jockey N. Beriman was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip eight (8) times prior to the 100m, being three (3) more than permitted.
 
CARESSING RUPERT – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Became awkward in its action passing the 300m, shifted in contacting SEBRING GIRL. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
After the running of race 1, the track was upgraded to a Soft (6) retrospectively.
 
Race 2: KATE ANDERSON DESIGN Maiden Plate 1800 metres
 
OZARCH – Slow to begin.
 
BRAMBLE BAY – Overraced in the early stages.
 
ANGELIC ARCHER – Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
LADY ORATORIO – Trainer M. Bailey was advised that a warning would be placed against the mare for today’s poor performance and be restricted to country meetings until it establishes form. Trainer M. Bailey advised that the mare will be sent for a spell.
 
PLAYFUL PASSION – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: MOOLOOLABA SURF CLUB 100 YEARS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1800 metres
 
MR DUDWEY – Disappointed for a run passing the 300m, after EARLY THOUGHTS shifted in, and as a result was obliged to shift wider on the track to improve.
 
CHIEF COMMAND – Slow to begin.
 
KINKUNA – Raced wide from the 900m. Jockey L. Cassidy commented at scale that he had concerns with the gelding’s action from the 150m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer E. Hargrave was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.  
 
MAGIC MIKEY (NZ) – Raced fiercely in the early stages resulting in MAGIC MIKEY unable to maintain its position with cover and raced wide for the remainder of the event.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
EARLY THOUGHTS – Overraced early and middle stages.
 
GENERAL WOLFFE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SEERESS – Slow to begin.
 
TRAVOLI – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 800m had to be restrained after improving onto the heels of EARLY THOUGHTS. The gelding commenced to weaken from the 600m and rider M. Du Plessis commented that he had concerns with the geldings’ action and therefore he elected to ease his mount down over in the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from the thumps and for it to be exhibiting a poor post race recovery.
 
CASSOWARY – Raced wide from the 900m.
 
NICHOLAS ADAM – Slow to begin. Trainer W. Kuskopf was advised that a warning would be placed against the gelding for today’s poor performance and for it to be restricted to country meetings until it establishes form. Trainer W. Kuskopf advised that the gelding will now be sent for a spell.
 
 
Race 4: JAMES HOME SERVICES-SUNSHINE COAST Fillies & Mares RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 1200 metres
 
CHAMPAGNE POP – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
UNLIKELYOCCURRENCE – Slow to begin. Approaching the 100m became awkwardly placed on the heels of CHAMPAGNE POP and as a result had to shift inwards to obtain clear running.
 
REAL TIDY – Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
FLICK – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
Following the running of race 4, the track was upgraded to a Soft (5).
 
Race 5: CLUTCH LEGAL Colts, Geldings & Entires RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
BILLY'S BRO – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
GAUNTLET – Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
BULL DIMPLE RUM – Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
HYDE – Raced in restricted room shortly after jumping away.
 
BOOM RANGA – Had to be resaddled on arrival at the barriers. Rider reported his mount hung severely throughout and proved difficult to ride at any stage. Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings. Trainer R. Heathcote was advised the gelding must trial prior to racing again.
 
Race 6: THE SURF CLUB MOOLOOLABA SUPPORTERS CLUB Class 6 Handicap 1000 metres
 
KAVAK – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FIVE OXFORD – After being slow into stride, became awkwardly placed on heels shortly after jumping. Disappointed for a run approaching the 200m and obliged to shift wider to improve, and again approaching the 50m had to be restrained after improving onto the heels of YOU’LL BE MIST resulting in FIVE OXFORD unable to be fully tested to the line.
 
WHAT THE FUSS – As the gelding had not started in excess of twelve months, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Rider K. Wilson-Taylor reported that the gelding will derive benefit from being first up from a lengthy spell. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
STELLAR POWER – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
ELEGIST – Became awkwardly placed on heels shortly after jumping away. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
YOU'LL BE MIST – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
FUNNY MONEY – Became awkwardly placed on the heels of YOU’LL BE MIST approaching the finish line resulting in FUNNY MONEY having to be restrained. When questioned on the mares’ performance, jockey R. Fradd reported that his mount began well and was able to take up a leading position. He added that on straightening, his mount commenced to weaken noticeably and felt awkward in its action inside the final 100m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer S. Kendrick stated that the mare will be sent for a spell but will follow up with Stewards in the coming days regarding the post race condition of the mare.  
 
 
Race 7: MOOLOOLABA SURF CLUB 100 YEARS Class 1 Plate 1400 metres
 
CLEARY ADONIS – Overraced in the early stages. Jockey M. Cahill reported that he was instructed to ride the gelding quietly with cover but CLEARLY ADONIS refused to settle, however, he was of the belief that the gelding finished the race off well.
 
JOLLY RUPERT – Overraced in the early stages.
 
READILY AVAILABULL – Jockey S. Collett reported at scale that the gelding felt awkward in its action throughout the event and hung in severely in the straight. Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Bruce was advised that the gelding will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Mr Bruce also advised that he will report back to Stewards on the post race condition of the gelding in the coming days.
 
RENAULT – Had to be resaddled on arrival at the barriers.
 
STREET FIGHTER – Jumped awkwardly and contacted the inside barrier partition.
 
WINSTON SMURFHILL (NZ) – On jumping attempted to buck and as a result lost significant ground. Rider N. Beriman dropped her whip at the 1200m. Trainer N. McCall was advised that WINSTON SMURFHILL will be required to trial satisfactorily in two consecutive trials prior to racing again.
 
SHADIE MILLY – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and was slow into stride.  
 
TELEREVE – Lost the off hind plate in the tie up stalls and was unable to be replated or the near hind plate to be removed due to the mares’ temperament. Stewards allowed TELEREVE to race without the off hind plate. Underwent a pre race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and passed fit to start. Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount hung in and proved difficult to ride out in the straight. Trainer E. Forrester was advised that the mare will have to barrier trial prior to racing again.
 
CASH ARTIST - As the gelding had not started in excess of twelve months, underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Jumped awkwardly.
