SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
18/12/22 Sunshine Coast Race 4 – SCAT’S SURFER GIRL (Trainer T Gollan) which performed below expectations has now been sent for a spell.
 
 
Race 1: SUNSHINE COAST BUSINESS SOLUTIONS QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts and Gelding 1200 metres
 
BABU KING – Hampered shortly after the start when THE SNUGGLER laid out momentarily.
 
BOLD SMUGGLER – Slow to begin.
 
CALICO COUNTY – Jumped out at the start. Near the 800m steadied from heels when over-racing. Bumped on the hindquarters by EDDY STREET at the enetrance to the home straight.
 
DEAL AN ACE – Trainer Stuart Kendrick was charged and fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider by the prescribed time. On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the horse was readjusted. Slow to begin. Held up for clear running between the 200m and 100m.
 
DUE DILIGENCE – Jumped in at the start.
 
EDDY STREET – Crowded at the start and lost ground between CALICO COUNTY and DUE DILIGENCE, both of which shifted ground. Over-raced in the early stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
HOFF HIS FACE – Bumped and taken out shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
JOHNNY UTAH – Leaving the 600m forced wider when NORTHERN PRIDE shifted out to improve.
 
NORTHERN PRIDE – From the wide barrier restrained at the start. A short distance later obliged to steady from the heels of SHEER ILLUSION. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHEER ILLUSION – Held up for a short distance passing the 300m.
 
THE SNUGGLER – Laid out shortly after the start.
 
 
Race 2: BOSS BUILDING MAINTENANCE QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
APRIL IN AUGUSTA – Jumped out at the start and bumped JUST LET IT OUT.
 
BABA LOOEY – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout and inclined to hang out at various stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer P Duff was advised BABA LOOEY must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
CARESSING RUPERT – Bumped shortly after the start. Steadied from heels near the 900m when the pace eased.
 
HI JULES – Slow to begin and then jumped away awkwardly.
 
MISSION OF LOVE – Raced wide throughout. Rider L Cassidy reported he was not disappointed with the performance of the horse as MISSION OF LOVE was not suited by the slow early pace of the race, adding that the horse would be better suited over a longer distance than that of today.
 
SHAPIN POWER – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
IRISH MAUDIE – Disappointed for a run at the entrance to the home straight between JUST LET IT OUT and CADERAS.
 
SAND AND OCEAN – Began awkwardly.Raced wide throughout.
 
JUST LET IT OUT – Bumped at the start.
 
 
Race 3: HAYMANS ELECTRICAL, DATA & AIRCON - CALOUNDRA RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Hand 1000 metres
 
HELL OF A PRINCE – Steadied from heels shortly after the start.
 
AGARN – Over-raced in the early stages.Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BRAZETTI – Raced wide throughout.
 
JUST VERA – Jumped out at the start and bumped BRAZETTI.Raced keenly in the early stages and neat the 800m put in awkward stride and became unbalanced. Raced wide throughout.
 
TEMPLE MISTRESS – Raced wide throughout. Taken wider rounding the home turn
 
LIVELY LASS – Raced wide throughout.
 
DARK ORIGINS – After contacting the outside rail moving onto the track,underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: PARKLANDS TAVERN Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
BON'S BETTER – As had not trialled for a considerable period of time, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start.
 
CURRY LEGEND – Laid in under pressure over the final 150m.
 
MINICOURT – Rider reported the horse raced greenly throughout and weakened from the 600m. Trainer S Kurz reported the horse had pulled up displaying a poor post-race recovery and was also showing signs of dehydration. Mr Kurz was advised MINICOURT must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
RED HOT LOVE – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SOOBLOND – Slipped behind on jumping away and lost ground.
 
KAZZA'S JET – As had not started for a considerable period of time, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. Raced wide throughout.
 
BETTER OFF SINGLE – Slow to begin.
 
ISLAND LADY – Began awkwardly.Raced wide throughout.
 
ZESTAR – Raced wide throughout.
 
GYRO RAISE – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of the tiring MINICOURT approaching the 500m and had to be steadied.
 
CHANCE AT MIDNIGHT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PRESSURE AND TIME – On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the horse was refitted. Raced wide throughout.
 
TAMSIN – M Cox, rider of TAMSIN, had her license to ride in races suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 23rd Dec up to and including midnight 30th December 2022 pursuant to AR132(5) for use of the whip on 18 occasions in totality during the race.
 
 
Race 5: ROSS MACLEAN FELLOWSHIP BENCHMARK 68 Handicap1200 metres
 
ABDICATING – Bumped at the start.
 
THUNDER MANIA – Rider L Cassidy reported the horse was inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages and in doing so his whip accidently contacted the left arm of B Thompson, rider of TRANQUIL BAY.
 
DUBLIN DE QUO – Jumped in at the start and bumped ABDICATING. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 6: SUNNY MEDIA BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1400 metres
 
CRACK OF DOOM – Raced wide for the majority of the event. I Rabjones, rider of CRACK OF DOOM, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
FASTLING – Over-raced in the early stages and as a result near the 900m was restrained from heels then continued to over race for some distance.
 
MIDNIGHT RAMBLER – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid in for the majority of the home straight.
 
PAPAS DREAM – Slow to begin.
 
ENTERPRISE BELLA – Eased down by its rider in the home straight when rider M Du Plessis became concerned with the horse’s action.  A post-race veterinary examination revealedthe horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer B Gorman was advised ENTERPRISE BELLA would require a veterinary clearance, including satisfactory results of an ECG test, and must also trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
SECRET NOTE – Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight until appoint near the 200m.
 
VIVENZO – Crowded for room and inconvenienced soon after entering the home straight between MIDNIGHT RAMBLER which laid in and FORCHE which laid out momentarily. In this incident L Allen, rider of VIVENZO, momentarily lost use of her offside rein. 
 
FORCHE – Laid for a short distance after entering the home straight.
 
 
Race 7: TAB Class 4 Handicap 1400 metres
 
WILMOT PASS – As the horse competed at the BRC meeting on 22nd December, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
VETTA VELOCITA – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages when the pace of the race was moderate.
 
FEDERAL AGENT – Slow to begin.
