Stewards approved the following overweight allowances at today’s meeting-
 
Race 3 – A DEVIL’S CHANCE – Matthew Powell +1kg

Race 1: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metre
 
MISHANI RAIDER – Slow to begin. Held up from approaching the 500m until a point near the 250m, when the gelding was directed out to secure clear running and in doing so initiated heavy contact with THE PLAYER, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Over the concluding stages, shifted out, again contacting THE PLAYER, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
 
ORCA – Slow to begin.
 
THE PLAYER – Trainer C Munce was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider. Bumped near the 250m by MISHANI RAIDER, which shifted out. Bumped again over the concluding stages by MISHANI RAIDER and became unbalanced.
 
Race 2: DUNLOP SUPER DEALER CALOUNDRA BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
WARRIORESS – Cast its off-fore and near-hind plate in running.
 
ZOOCUPOLA – Tightened for room and steadied approaching the 700m.
 
BOOMBRASSTIC – Inconvenienced near the 100m when GLAMOUR AND GLORY shifted out under pressure.
 
GLAMOUR AND GLORY – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Jockey B Thornton, the rider of GLAMOUR AND GLORY, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for failing to stop riding and straighten his mount.
 
FOGGY DEW – Slow to begin. Tightened for room and steadied approaching the 700m. Jockey J Orman reported that his mount over raced in the early stages and laid out rounding the home turn.
 
REGAL CONQUEROR – Inconvenienced near the 100m when GLAMOUR AND GLORY shifted out under pressure.
 
BULSARA – Raced wide without cover throughout. Inconvenienced near the 100m when GLAMOUR AND GLORY shifted out under pressure.
 
SCREAM QUEEN – Raced wide throughout. Tightened for room and steadied approaching the 700m when BULSARA shifted in. Jockey L Cassidy, the rider of BULSARA, was reprimanded for this incident pursuant to AR131(a).
 
 
Race 3: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Maiden Handicap 1800 metres
 
MOONLIGHT COWBOY – Shifted wider from the 850m to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
NGOZI (NZ) – Connections advised that NGOZI is to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit, ridden accordingly.
 
OUTA TAORMINA – Slow to begin. Over raced during the middle stages when the pace slackened.
 
A DEVIL'S CHANCE – Steadied to avoid the heels of NGOZI, which shifted out after being bumped by KATDEEL, rounding the home turn.
 
O'CALLOGHAN – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward by its rider to take up the leading position passing the 1100m.
 
SEA KISSED – Shifted wider from the 850m to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
Race 4: BELLE PROPERTY MAROOCHYDORE Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
GALIFIANAKIS (IRE) – Checked from heels approaching the 1000m. Continued to be restrained from heels until leaving the 700m.
 
 
TIME TO TESTIFY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide.
 
BALTRAY – Checked from heels approaching the 1000m when HOFF HIS FACE lost ground abruptly. Continued to be restrained from the heels of HOFF HIS FACE until leaving the 700m. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
TAVI PIN (NZ) – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
STAR PRINCE – Checked from heels approaching the 1000m. Continued to be restrained from heels until leaving the 700m. Again obliged to check from heels near the 500m.
 
HOFF HIS FACE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages, then when placed in restricted room near the 100m, shifted out and was checked from heels. Continued to race very ungenerously and hung out, being checked from heels on number of occasions between the 800m and 400m before finishing a distant last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer N Hocking was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary certificate and to officially barrier trial prior to next racing.
 
CALLYWAG – Raced wide.
 
WHERE YA BEAN – Raced wide. Jockey M Hellyer reported that his mount was inclined to lay out for the majority.
 
Race 5: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres
 
No racing incidents.
 
Race 6: BARRIER REEF POOLS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1200 metres
 
THUNDER MANIA – Jockey L Cassidy reported that his mount laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISTA OMEGA – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight and when placed under full pressure was inclined to lay in.
 
DATA PATCH – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey E Chaves indicated that he would have preferred to obtain a position in the lead as he believes the horse races best when able to easily obtain the leading position, however jockey Chaves could offer no further explanation for the poor performance.
 
Race 7: TAB Class 1 Handicap 1800 metres
 
CRITICAL THINKER – After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1300m.
 
APATAKI (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over raced for a short distance passing the 1500m. Passing the 400m, lost the nearside winker.
 
WINSTON SMURFHILL (NZ) – Over raced in the early stages. Cast its off-side hind plate in running. Inconvenienced after passing the 200m.
 
RUFUS WINRIGHT – Near the 1400m, checked to avoid the heels of WILLNOTQUIT which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey B Thompson rider of WILLNOTQUIT was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
DAULAT MACHTIGAMOR – Was obliged to steady near the 1400m from the heels of POPPY JOAN when the pace slackened and as a result shifted out bumping BRICKSTER.
 
BRICKSTER – Inconvenienced and forced wider near the 1400 when DAULAT MACHTIGAMOR shifted out. Raced wide.
