Race 1: CREATIVE STONE Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
Lucky Briz – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Atomic Warrior – Raced wide throughout the event. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and couldn’t be fully tested over the concluding stages.
 
Barnes – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced greenly throughout the event. Passing the 700m had to be restrained after improving onto heels and lost ground as a result. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and passing the 300m had to be restrained off heels before having to shift inward to improve. Raced in restricted room passing the 50m and had to shift out to improve.
 
Dane Road – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Secret Red – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Chance With Wolves – Jumped away awkwardly. Hampered shortly after the start and raced in restricted room for a number of strides.
 
Our Rocketman – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until passing the 250m.
 
Curry Legend – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Bailey Boo – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced in restricted room over the final 50m. Hampered approaching the winning post and was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of CURRY LEGEND, which shifted in. Jockey B Thompson, Rider of CURRY LEGEND, was advised to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground in future.
 
Earlston – Raced in restricted room over the final 50m.
 
Race 2: NUMBER ONE QUALITY HOMES Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
Daulat Diomiarosia – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Passing the 250m had to be restrained off the heels of DARE I SAY, which shifted out when insufficiently clear to do so. Jockey N Beriman, rider of DARE I SAY, was found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear. Jockey Beriman’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 12 February to midnight 20 February 2023, being free to resume riding in races on 21 February. Passing the 100m became awkwardly placed at the heels of ROAR HIDE which shifted away from another runner.
 
Goddess Of Peace – Jumped away awkwardly and was hampered shortly after. Raced in restricted room on entering the course proper and commenced to over race. Rider J Morris advised stewards that after beginning awkwardly he was obliged to settle further back than he had anticipated. He further added that the filly wasn’t comfortable racing in restricted room in the early stages.
 
Military Cure – Trainer T Hurley advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell.
 
Prolific Melody – Raced in restricted room approaching the 500m. Improved onto heels rounding the home turn and had to be steadied. Obliged to alter course at the 150m to secure clear running.
 
Dare I Say – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Jennatop – Jumped away awkwardly. Improved onto heels approaching the home turn.
 
Island Lady – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Le Grand Louvre – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Improved onto heels approaching the home turn. Shifted out under pressure over the final 150m.
 
Queen’s Secret – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 250m before being corrected by its rider.
 
Tereshkova – Raced wide throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have heat stress.
 
Dawn Rebel – Jumped away awkwardly. Became awkward in its action on entering the course proper and raced awkwardly for a short distance. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Roar Hide – Improved onto heels at the 300m and had to be steadied.
 
War An Finance – Raced wide.
 
Flamin' Ready – Raced wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have heat stress.

Following the running of this event rider Jackson Morris became unwell and was stood down from his remaining engagement. Mr Morris was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to riding again
 
Race 3: RESI HOMES PTY LTD QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed to owing to FLANK SPEED, CAPITAL MEG and CICCONE all undergoing veterinary examinations prior to the start.
 
Ciccone declared a late scratching at 7.11pm on Veterinary advice after being fractious in the barrier.
 
Stewards ordered the following deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 7.11 pm:
 
Win bets SPIRIT QUEEN – 2 Cents
Place Bets SPIRIT QUEEN - 2 Cents
Place Bets (For 2nd) - POLARISING – 2 cents
Place Bets (For 3rd) – JUMP’N FLY – 2 cents
 
Trainer L Ross was advised a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of CICCONE.
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing Jockey N Berriman, rider of second place getter POLARISING, to view the stewards patrol films to ascertain if she had grounds to lodge an objection. After doing so she elected to not proceed and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.
 
Poweralong – Jumped away awkwardly and had to be restrained off heels shortly after. Raced wide throughout.
 
Rustic Boom – Slow to begin. Bumped by BELLE OF THE BAYOU at the 500m. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Spirit Queen – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight and passing the 100m made heavy contact with POLARISING, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced.
 
Flank Speed – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the barriers and was cleared to start.
 
Jump'n Fly – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight and passing the 200m shifted in contacting LAGUNA DE CHICABEL.
 
Polarising – Slow to begin. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight and passing the 100m made heavy contact with SPIRIT QUEEN, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced.
 
Iamrustyparker – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. Rider J Lloyd advised stewards he was concern with the action of the filly over the final 150m and for this reason did not fully test his mount over the concluding stages. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have heat stress requiring veterinary treatment.
 
Belle Of The Bayou – Slow to begin. Bumped RUSTIC BOOM at the 500m.
 
Capital Meg – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after kicking the rail in the mounting enclosure and was passed fit to start. Fractious before the start. Trainer L White was advised a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of CAPITAL MEG.
 
Laguna De Chicabel – Hampered passing the 200m.
 
Following the running of this event, Jockey A Thompson was examined by the club doctor and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
Race 4: MCGARRY EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Tuscany Bound – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Hampered and was obliged to shift out passing 800m when awkwardly placed on the heels of VAIN FOX which shifted in. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until approaching the 300m.
 
Chief Artie – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
Kernel Boom – Lost its near fore plate during the event.
 
Kazza's Jet – Jockey M Powell was fined $400 under the provisions AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish of the race. In assessing penalty, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that it had cost his mount fourth place.
 
Parisian Lady – Raced wide throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had lost both front plates during the event.
 
Vital Source – Had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance on entering the home straight.
 
Vain Fox – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Amber One – Restrained from the wide barrier to take up a position closer to the rail.
 
 
Race 5: 4 INGREDIENTS Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Badgers Nuts – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
Flying Zamboni – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Zhuang Shi – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
Sir Beveridge – Raced wide.
 
Sea Ripple – Held up rounding the home turn. Disappointed for clear running leaving the 200m. raced in restricted room from the 150m until leaving the 100m.
 
Au Revoir – Raced wide.
 
Beauregard – Slow to begin. Cast its near fore plate.
 
Easier Said – Raced wide.
 
 
Race 6: SOMMER PETROLEUM BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1600 metres
 
Kinkuna – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Wizard Of Visp – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Gap Year – Rider B Thompson advised that it was his intention to ride the mare with cover however after being caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to race in a forward position.
 
Kaboom – Began awkwardly.
 
Shes Enuff – Began awkwardly.
 
Miss Antarctica – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Lexi's Choice – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages of the event. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
A Devils Chance – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 7: TAB Class 3 Handicap 1800 metres
 
Bedford Square (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Critical Thinker – Apprentice C Collis was fined $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Better Lad – Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event and passing the 1000m was allowed to stride forward and to take up the lead.
