Race 1: CALOUNDRA RSL SUB BRANCH Maiden Plate 2200 metres
 
Red Oscar – Slow to begin then bumped. Jockey W D’Avilia was fined $200 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 8 times prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted.
 
Zelson – Began awkwardly shifted in and bumped with RED OSCAR.
 
 
Race 2: THE LOCAL BEERWAH BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Bold Halo – Began awkwardly, then restrained from the wide barrier to a rearward position. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Jolly Rupert – Near the 700m steadied from heels and shifted wider for a short distance.
 
Tuscany Bound – Held up for clear running from the home turn until leaving the 200m. Cast the off-fore plate.
 
Dream Song – Raced wide.
 
Blaze Seven (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Race 3: YOUNG VETERANS SUNSHINE COAST BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1000 metres
 
 
Kat Chinna – Raced ungenerously when restraining to obtain cover near the 700m
 
Love My Super – Began awkwardly.
 
Minks Star – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly thereafter bumped with SMASHINGPLATES.
 
Brave Maso – Rider reported that the mare was slow to muster speed and may benefit from a step up in distance.
 
Smashingplates – Bumped with MINKS STAR shortly after the start.
 
Grandeur Rose – Rider reported that the mare laid out when placed under pressure. Post- race veterinary examination determined that the mare was exhibiting clinical signs of the thumps.
 
Race 4: COOLUM RSL SUB BRANCH Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
Dazzling Illusion – Bumped on jumping. Raced very wide.
 
Larrikin Reg – Raced wide. Hung out and raced greenly throughout. Post- race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer P Burns was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its racing manners.
 
Bankonajet – Tightened and buffeted between runners on jumping. Restrained from heels near the 500m.
 
Dane Road – Raced wide.
 
Our Mate Stumpy – Hampered shortly after the start.
 
Romeus – Raced wide.
 
Roses In The Rain – Raced greenly in the home straight. Near the 150m shifted out under pressure and bumped HELENE.
 
Final Selection – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 150m and became unbalanced. Trainer D Hansen was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider by the prescribed time.
 
Helene – Near the 150m its rider was obliged to stop riding when buffeted between runners.
 
Mingle – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Rider reported that the filly failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and proved disappointing. Rider also added that MINGLE may benefit from a step up in distance.
 
Elesprit Miss – Restrained from heels near the 500m. Held up rounding the home turn until leaving the 300m.
 
Dawn Rebel – Buffeted on jumping.
 
War And Finance – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Bailey Boo – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Restrained from heels near the 500m.
 
 
Race 5: CALOUNDRA SERVICES CLUB QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres

 
Atomic Warrior – Near the 1000m obliged to steady from the heels of SIR CARTER. Jockey Adin Thompson was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Raced wide.
 
Barnes – Bumped on jumping.
 
Chicane – Fractious in the barriers. Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight and near the 300m was obliged to steady from the heels of OUR DRUMMER which shifted out.
 
Fossil Fuel – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Hung out for a short distance passing the 800m. Near the 100m its rider was obliged to stop riding and alter course to secure clear running.
 
Poweralong – Passing the 1000m restrained from heels when over racing and continued to over race until approaching the 600m.
 
Hard To Level – Raced wide. Commenced to weaken from the 600m and was not competitive. Post- race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer P Burns was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming.
 
Seiryu – Bumped on jumping. Jockey reported that the filly did not travel throughout and may benefit from the addition of blinkers and a step up in distance.
 
 
 
Race 6: HOMEFRONT BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1800 metres
 
Jetfoil – Slow to begin.
