GENERAL
 
As Jockey S. Sweedman was unable to attend the meeting, he was replaced as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Stewards accepted the explanations tendered by Trainers in relation to late rider declarations at today’s meeting.
 
Race 1: ST GEORGE & DIRRANBANDI COTTON GROWERS/PRECISION AERIAL BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400m
 
PARAGAS – Slow to begin.
 
PROVOCATIVE MAN – Raced three wide no cover in early stages.
 
LESLIE JAMES – Began slowly. Over raced in early and middle stages.
 
Race 2: ST GEORGE MACHINERY CENTRE Class B Handicap 1150m
 
NEELANJALI – Declared a late scratching at 12:45 at the request of the trainer and connections.
 
STORMWATER – At a point approaching the 800m momentarily placed in restricted room and forced to ease. Held up for clear running at a point approaching the 400m and forced to ease.
 
CAMAROSA – Began awkwardly.
 
DEADIDIC – Underwent a veterinary check at the barriers at the request of its rider and was subsequently passed fit to start.
 
TWOGOBOOM – Slow to begin.
 
LET IT SIZZLE – Raced 5 wide without cover in the early stages. Momentarily held up when entering the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: O’BRIEN TOYOTA QTIS Maiden Plate 1150m
 
PALPATATION - Declared a late scratching at !:00pm by order of the stewards on veterinary advice. Trainer W. Baker was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing.
 
BEEF’N’BLACK BEAN – Upon returning to scale, Apprentice P. Bradford, advised that the gelding had gotten its tongue over the bit and failed to respond
 
SENSE OF EXPENSE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
GOLDEN EMBERS – Began awkwardly.
 
ROSES FOR OLLIE – Jumped awkwardly. Bucked shortly after the start dislodging its rider. Apprentice A. Bakos was assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service and was cleared to resume her race riding. Trainer W. Baker was advised the mare would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to racing.
 
ZARAGIGI – Fractious in the barrier and as a result got its leg over the partition. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: BRIAN WIPPELL & NED UNDERWOOD MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000m
 
I LOVE THIS HIPPY – Slow to begin. Upon returning to scale, apprentice Z. Sprie advised that gelding did not handle soft surface and the kick back of todays event.
 
FOR LOVE – Apprentice A. Bakos- was reprimanded for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. - AR132(7)(a)(ii)
 
LEICA SPECIAL – Fractious in barriers. Began awkwardly.
 
FUNKY FARM – Raced 3 wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
 
LOW LEVEL FLYING – Hung out in the middle stages. At the 300m momentarily placed in restricted room and was forced to eased.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 5: COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER CUBBIE AG FLYER OPEN Handicap 1000m
 
BEWARE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide without cover in early stages.
 
PHIONAIX – Raced wide without cover

Race 6: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/QUEENSLAND COTTON ST GEORGE CUP OPEN Handicap 1600m

 
PALATE – Began awkwardly. Over raced in early stages.
 
ITSALLKAY – Raced wide with no cover in the early and middle stages.
 
No further incidents.
