RACE 1: TARA HOTEL MOTEL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M

DENARTE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

GOTTA GET CRACKING – Was slow to begin.

LOVE STORIES – Began awkwardly.

BOB MARK’S BOY – Raced without cover for the majority of the event.


RACE 2: RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS BMK 65 HCP – 1000M

HIZOU – Bumped by another runner at the start.

THE ROBBER – Jumped out at the start.

DANA DANCER – Bumped by another runner at the start.

MR THATCHER – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid out rounding the home turn.

CASUAL CONNECTIONS – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.


RACE 3: BRANDON & ASSOCIATES/TARA RURAL SUPPLIES CLASS B HCP – 1200M

IMILCHE – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

THE CHARMED ONE – Checked near the 600m when another runner shifted in.

CELTIC CAT – Hung in near the 600m despite the efforts of the rider and made contact with the running rail. Trainer B. Phillips was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.


RACE 4: WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL TARA CUP OPEN HCP - 1400M

GARDER LA FOI – Began awkwardly. Rider dropped the whip near the 50m.

I’M NO RUBY – Blundered near the 1100m and became unbalanced. Apprentice S. Palmer was fined $300 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race. In determining penalty, stewards were of the opinion that apprentice S. Palmer’s actions had cost him 3rd place.

RACE 5: RPQ PTY LTD CLASS 2 HCP – 1400M

SIR STEPHEN – Was slow to begin. After being caught wide in the early stages, A. Taylor allowed her mount to stride forward to obtain a leading position near the 800m. Rider reported at scale that the gelding had a tendency to hang out in early stages of the event.

JANDY GIRL – Began awkwardly.

CROWN THE BOSS – Began awkwardly.
