RACE 1: COUNTRYSIDE ELECTRICS PTY LTD CLASS B HCP – 1000M

SPINTHESONY was a late scratching at 12:04pm when no suitable rider was available.

FROSTBITE - Raced wide for the majority of the event. When questioned in regards to the poor performance apprentice G. Leung stated that he was looking to obtain a forward position and that the outside barrier may have contributed to him settling back further than anticipated. Apprentice G. Leung added that during the middle stages of the event his mount was inclined to hang out. He added further that when pressuring Frostbite from the 400m he did not quicken as expected, resenting the kick back and proved disappointing in his opinion.

DIVA MISS – Eased from heels rounding the home turn.

SQUEEMI – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

GOTTAGUN – Laid out rounding the home turn.


RACE 2: S&C AYRES LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT BMK 70 HCP – 1000M

LIVING IMAGE – Was slow to begin.

JAM TIN – Forced wider on the track near the 600m.

TALKING NONSENSE – Hung out near the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding apprentice N. Morton stated that her mount was second up from a significant spell and when she pressured the gelding near the 500m he failed to respond and proved disappointing. She further added that Talking Nonsense would benefit from today’s event.

CONFIDENT STAR – Hung out badly rounding the home turn. Rider reported at scale that the gelding had a tendency to hang out throughout the event.

Following the running of race 2 apprentice L. Attard was stood down from riding due to illness. Rider substitutions were made as per the race day summary. Apprentice L. Attard was advised that he would require a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride in races again.


RACE 3: PHIPPS FAMILY TRUST CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M

SAN DIEGUITO – Was slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

WONGARANDA – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.

IT’S ALL IRISH – When questioned in regards to the disappointing performance, apprentice H. English stated that the gelding began with the field, however shortly after the start her mount was reluctant to stride out on today’s dirt track. She added that it was the gelding’s first start on a dirt track, and during the middle stages the gelding got its head up as a result of the kick back and was then reluctant to stride out for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.


RACE 4: ABH TRANSPORT QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1200M

SOME IDEA – Was slow to begin and lost significant ground. When questioned in regards to the poor performance, jockey N. Evans reported at scale that his mount did not handle today’s track conditions and resented the kick back which contributed to the poor performance.

MOWER – Was slow to begin.

IRISH DARK – Raced wide in the middle stages of the event.

IT’S A SNIP – Hung out rounding the home turn.

HASHTAG YOLO – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.


RACE 5: LEICHHARDT HOTEL/THE CELEBRATION/TAROOM CUP OPEN HCP – 1400M

CRAWFISH – Raced wide in the middle stages.

BLUE JEST – Was slow to begin.

Apprentice E. Cass (BLUE JEST) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 144 in that she failed to weigh in when required to do so on the first place getter. Apprentice E. Cass was fined $500.


RACE 6: TAROOM IGA BMK 55 HCP – 1400M

JANDYGIRL was a late scratching at 3:23pm when no rider was available.

Correct weight was delayed when apprentice G. Leung (FASTPITCH 2nd) and trainer R. Frazer (FASTPITCH 2nd) were afforded the opportunity to view the photo finish. Both apprentice G. Leung and trainer R. Frazer were satisfied and correct weight was confirmed on the judges numbers semaphored.

SIALIA MAGIC – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

FASTPITCH – Was slow to begin.

M’SIEUR MONTPELIER – Was slow to begin.

DASHINGLY – Hung out rounding the home turn.
