RACE 1: EDE EVENTS Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st - GAINSFORD - 2ND - CIDARIS 3RD - EIRIAN 4TH - CAPT'N THUNDERBIRD

DINKUMS DARLIN' - Stewards ordered the late scratching, at 11.24 a.m., when the horse was found to be sore in front. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on DINKUMS DARLIN' be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

1¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, GAINSFORD
2¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, GAINSFORD
2¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, CIDARIS
1¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, EIRIAN

Trainer Ms O. Cairns was advised that she must provide a veterinary clearance before DINKUMS DARLIN' will be permitted to race again.

HAPPY TO BE HERE - When no other rider was available, stewards permitted Jockey M. Abe to ride his mount ½kg above his declared weight. App. Abe was fined $300 under A.R.120(b).

MISS RICH - App. N. Vuille was only able to claim 1kg of her 2kg allowance and was fined $300 under A.R. 92(12). Slow to begin, then shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room.

FRANLYLE - Slow to begin. Passing the 800 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied.

EIRIAN - Raced wide without cover throughout.

GAINSFORD - Slow to begin.

CORONATION JOURNEY - Approaching the first turn, near the 950 metres, CORONATION JOURNEY (Jockey A. Spinks) was inclined to over-race and had to be checked when tightened for room by HAPPY TO BE HERE App. M. Abe, which was taken in by EIRIAN, which shifted in away from GANGSTER SQUAD. MISS RICH (App. N. Vuille), which was following, was hampered as a consequence. Passing the 200 metres CORONATION JOURNEY attempted to improve into a doubtful run, then had to be continually steadied when awkwardly placed on heels.

I'M RURRBELLIOUS - Raced wide throughout and hung out rounding the home turn, placing its rider at a disadvantage.

GAINSFORD - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had bled from one nostril as a result of a minor laceration.

WORLD MUSIC - In the early part of the straight had difficulty obtaining clear running, then was disappointed for a run near the 200 metres.

RACE 2: Tribute to John Rowlands BenchMark 70 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st - ACCIDENTAL 2nd - PERFECT KNOWLEDGE 3rd - DESTRUCTION 4th - SURAH SURAH

PERFECT KNOWLEDGE - Slow to begin.

DESTRUCTION - Reared at the start and lost ground, then raced wide throughout. Shortly after straightening was momentarily inconvenienced.

SURAH SURAH - Raced keenly in the early stages.

GUEPARDO - Passing the 200 metres was hampered, then weakened noticeably thereafter. Trainer R. Chillemi said that the gelding will now be spelled.

STRATEGIC GLORY - Laid in under pressure in the straight.

RACE 3: Blinds For You Class 6 Plate - 1300 metres
1st - RIVARIVA 2nd - GREEN ANCHOR 3rd - CLEAVER 4th - PIT BOSS

PIT BOSS - Bumped at the start.

CHEERS BROWE - Bumped at the start.

RIVARIVA - Began awkwardly.

GREEN ANCHOR - Shifted out abruptly at the start.

CRACOW - Rounding the home turn was awkwardly placed on heels.

CLEAVER - Was momentarily held up rounding the home turn, then had to be shifted out to obtain clear running.

RACE 4: Townsville Vet Clinic Dollars QTIS 3-Y-O & 4-Y-O Handicap - 1400 metres
1st - PRETTY VACANT 2nd - ELEMENT OF CHANCE 3rd -
MAMSELLE CORDAY 4th - OH YEAH

ONE BAR NONE - Bumped at the start.

MAMSELLE CORDAY - Crowded for room at the start and made heavy contact with another runner.

ELEMENT OF CHANCE - Passing the 200 metres had to be steadied when racing tight to the inside of another runner.

GOLDEN METEOR - When questioned about the poor performance, App. D. Evans said that his mount travelled well in a prominent position, however when another runner improved to his outside, GOLDEN METEOR was inclined to race keenly and as a result was left without a finishing effort and weakened over the final stages.

RACE 5: Wilson Ryan Grose Lawyers BenchMark 65 Handicap - 1609 metres
1st - PACHAMAMA 2nd - BLU AXIS 3rd - HERE TO DASH 4th - BLANCHARD BLOOM

BLANCHARD BLOOM - Slow to begin.

VIRTUITY - Began awkwardly.

BLU AXIS - Raced 3 wide in the early stages.

JAMALKA - Passing the 1200 metres improved onto heels and had to be checked.

PACHAMAMA - Passing the 500 metres was momentarily crowded between runners.

HERE TO DASH - Disappointed for a run shortly after straightening.

LOCKIEBE - Held up and unable to obtain clear running until after the 100 metres.

ROCHALLOR - Hung out rounding the home turn.

RACE 6: Cheryl's Boutique/Ausi Centre Townsville BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st - BEAUDRAGON 2nd - LA RIVE DROITE 3rd - VO TREASURE 4th - CALL ON KEVIN

DANE WILL DO - Slow to begin.

SHERIDAN - Slow to begin.

LEGENDARY PLUME - Hampered shortly after the start, then raced wide without cover.

MAL'S PRIDE - Hampered shortly after the start. Jockey I. Fry was reprimanded under A.R. 137A(5)(a) for using his whip in a forehand manner on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 3 more than is permitted under the rule. Stewards took into account Jockey Fry's exemplary record in relation to the rule.

VEE FORCE - Crowded for room shortly after the start.

PACHAMAMA - Shifted out abruptly shortly after the start.

ARLINGTON PARK - Rounding the first turn, near the 950 metres, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of PACHAMAMA, which was racing keenly and shifted in abruptly.

RANGILA - Held up and unable to obtain clear running until passing the 100 metres.

RACE 7: Parry NQ Classic QTIS 3-Y-O - 1200 metres
1st VALLEY ROSE - 2nd - ME MYSELF AND I 3rd - WICKED CRIME 4th - EMBRACE THE PAIN

PURE CHANCE - As the start was effected refused to jump and took no competitive part in the event. Trainer Ms O. Cairns was told that she must obtain a barrier certificate prior to the horse being permitted to race again.

BAR BABY - Was bumped heavily at the start.

SONIC BOOMER - Shifted out abruptly and made contact with another runner at the start.

BOOK A FLIGHT - Crowded for room at the start.

MISHANI REDMAN - Crowded for room at the start. Passing the 600 metres improved onto heels and had to be checked.

TURN UP THE VOLUME - Slow to begin and then was crowded for room shortly after the start. Passing the 800 metres was awkwardly placed on heels and had to be steadied.

SECOND TIME AROUND - Raced keenly in the early stages and had to be steadied after improving onto heels.

Jockey K. Stone pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that passing the 600 metres he allowed MINNIE STREET to shift out whilst riding it along when insufficiently clear of BOOK A FLIGHT (F. Edwards), which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. RYLEE'S SAGA (S. Kaya), which was following, was hampered as a consequence. Jockey Stone was suspended from riding from midnight on 3rd October 2015, up to and including midnight on 15th October 2015.

RACE 8: RSL Townsville Cup Open Handicap - 2000 metres
1st - HONEY TOAST 2nd - ROCK VANGAGE 3rd - CASTLE EXPRESS 4th - RICHIE ROCKET

ALDREN - A pre-race veterinary examination of the gelding,which had swelling in its near hind leg, cleared ALDREN to take its place in the field. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

KNOWING ME - Began awkwardly.

TIP RAT - Was bumped at the start.

CHATEAU DETTORI - Bumped at the start and raced keenly in the early stages. Passing the 200 metres shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, who dropped his whip.

MOSSIMO - On returning to scale App. Vuille reported that her mount raced keenly throughout and refused to settle.

THE TINKER'S SON - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer T. Butts was told that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.

RACE 9: XXXX Gold Cleveland Bay Open Handicap - 1300 metres
1st - LADRETTO 2nd - MISHANI GLADIATOR 3rd - PLAYTIME 4th -
BLAME GAME

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to enable the connections of the second placegetter, MISHANI GLADIATOR, to view the video film of the finish. Having done so they were satisfied with the judge's placings and correct weight was declared.

STARLISTIC - Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

Passing the 1200 metres HANDYMAN BOB (M. Pegus) shifted in and carried ZINDZELA (A. Spinks) in onto WISHFUL (S. Wiseman), which was crowded for room. Shortly afterwards, Jockey M. Pegus again allowed his mount to shift in marginally, crowding ZINDZELA in onto WISHFUL, which had to be steadied. Jockey Pegus was severely reprimanded.

WISHFUL - Approaching the first turn, near the 950 metres, when racing ungenerously, shifted out despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in STARLISTIC clipping the heels of that runner, blundering and in MIATA (S. Wilson) being crowded for room.

WHITSUNDAY EXPRESS - Raced wide throughout.

PLAYTIME - Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.

Jockey W. D'Avila pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that passing the 200 metres he allowed STARLISTIC to shift out when not clear of WISHFUL (S. Wiseman), which had to be checked. Jockey D'Avila was suspended from riding in races for a period commencing at midnight on 3rd October 2015, up to and including midnight on 11th October 2015.

IRON METEORITE - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which was slow to begin then failed to respond to his Jockey N. Day's urgings, did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Morris said that he would report to stewards if anything was amiss with the gelding in the ensuing days.


RACE 10 - Zink 100.7 Class 2 Handicap - 1400 metres
1st - MOUNTAIN VIEW 2nd - HOYWEDGE - 3rd MY GIRL CHARLIE - 4th OOSTHUIZEN

TOUGH COMPANY - Was a late scratching, at 9.30 a.m., by order of the stewards. Trainer S. Gabriel-Royes will be interviewed at a later date.

INTRUDING - Was a late scratching, at 3.15 p.m., when the gelding injured itself in the float en route to the course. Trainer A. Jones was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.

MY GIRL CHARLIE - Slow to begin, then was checked when crowded for room shortly after the start.

EIREANN - Shifted in abruptly at the start.

HOW ABOUT ME - Slow to begin.

EXALTED WARRIOR - Raced wide throughout.

ASSERTIVE LOVE - Raced wide throughout.

OOSTHUIZEN - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

SUNNY CHIEF - App. M. Abe was fined $200 under A.R. 145 for returning to scale more than 2 kg above his declared weight.
