Race 1: Master Builders Voice Of The Industry Benchmark 70 Handicap 1000 metres.
1st – LOKUM 2nd – STRICTLY MAGIC 3rd – SURAH SURAH 4th - SEQUONIS
The event started 3 minutes post official starting time due to the Ambulance arriving late to the course.
STRICTLY MAGIC - Was crowded on jumping and lost ground.
Race 2: BUSSQ – Building Super Maiden Handicap 1300 metres.
1st – LYKELY 2nd – CORONATION JOURNEY 3rd – EIGHT FIGURES 4th - NAVAJO RED
As Jockey R Graham was stood down from riding at the meeting by Stewards he was replaced on GABONIA by Jockey P Cullen who was permitted to ride the mare 2.5 kilograms overweight when no other rider was available.
EIGHT FIGURES – Was slowly away.
GABONIA – Was slowly away.
Stewards cautioned Jockey C Lennon who rode CORONATION JOURNEY in relation to his use of the whip.
Race 3: Parry NQ Navara Class 3 Plate 1609 metres.
1st – MOUNTAIN VIEW 2nd – ROCHALLOR 3rd – THE PRINCIPAL 4th – MONTANA MAN
NAIL‘EM and MY GIRL CHARLIE were both late scratchings prior to betting commencing when no rider was available.
MOUNTAIN VIEW - Had to be steadied near the 600 metres after improving onto the heels of another runner.
Race 4: Master Builders North Queensland Member’s Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres.
1st – UNION JUKEBOX 2nd – STARLIGHT BELLE 3rd – LEGENDARY PLUME 4th – DAMKY
Jockey I Fry replaced Jockey R Graham on BACKTOSPEC. After riding in the previous event Jockey Fry stated that he felt fatigued and was further replaced on BACKTOSPEC by Jockey D Andrews.
BACKTOSPEC - Slipped behind on jumping and lost considerable ground.
DAMKY – Had to be checked off the heels of another runner which was inclined to hang out near the 900 metres.
KOOLKUNA BABE – Was inclined to hang out throughout. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a minor dental issue. Trainer Mr. R Tapiolas was advised that the mare will be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
Race 5: Enviropest Flick Anticimex Open Handicap 1200 metres .
1st – ACCIDENTAL 2nd – BARACHELLO 3rd – SIZZLELON 4th – RHYTHM ‘N’ RAP
RHYTHM ‘N’RAP – Was inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages despite the efforts of its rider.
