Race 1: TTC Winter Racing Carnival 16-30 July Maiden Handicap – 1000 metres
1st – ONE FOR THE MONEY 2nd – DELTA MAGIC 3rd – BASK IN GLORY 4th – MISS HAVISHAM

A pre-race veterinary examination of BASK IN GLORY, which was resuming from a lengthy spell, did not reveal any abnormalities.

MISS HAVISHAM – Slow to begin, crowded for room shortly afterwards and then was reluctant to stretch out. Jockey P. Cullen was reprimanded under A.R. 137A(4)(b) for raising his whip above shoulder height.

BASK IN GLORY – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.

BONNE SANTE – Was crowded for room at the start and had to be checked.

DELTA MAGIC – Bumped at the start.

SOME SUNNYDAY – Bumped at the start.

MAKE HER DANCE – Made contact with another runner at the start.

EIRIAN – In the early stages raced very ungenerously and was reluctant to hold its position when racing inside other runners. Passing the 100 metres improved onto the heels of a weakening runner and had to be steadied.

JORDANS JET – Shortly after straightening was momentarily hampered.

PURE FETISH – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, which performed below market expectations, Apprentice M. Haley said that his mount travelled comfortably in a prominent position throughout, however shortly after straightening failed to respond to his urgings and weakened.

Passing the 800 metres DELTA MAGIC (Jockey J. Felix) shifted in abruptly when not quite clear of MISS HAVISHAM (Jockey P. Cullen), which was awkwardly placed on the heels of DELTA MAGIC, was taken inwards and had to be steadied. Jockey Felix was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear before shifting ground.


Race 2: Like The TTC on Facebook QTIS 2-Y-O Handicap - 1000 metres
1st – MISHANI SHIRAZ 2nd - OURBOYBYRON 3rd – CRAIGLEA EVELYN 4th – LIKER

ROTHE AND ROLL – Slow to begin and then crowded for room shortly after.

BE WHY OH – Was bumped at the start.

CRAIGLEA EVELYN – Shifted in at the start and made contact with another runner.

I KAN CONQUER – Jockey B. Thomson reported that her mount raced greenly throughout and was reluctant to hold its position when racing to the inside of other runners. She said that when placed under pressure the gelding failed to respond and was disappointing.

Race 3: Racing Friday 29th April @ Townsville QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1200 metres
1st – CONCLUDER 2nd – WICKED CRIME 3rd – C RAIGLEA ZIP 4th – REGAL ROTH

ULTRA RED – Shifted in at the start and made contact with another runner.

SARGOOD LANE – Bumped at the start. Raced 3 wide throughout.

WICKED CRIME – Slow to begin then was bumped shortly after the start.

AMBER’S GIRL – Shifted in at the start and bumped another runner.

CRAIGLEA ALTISE – Bumped at the start.

Approaching the first turn, near the 900 metres, WICKED CRIME (Jockey N. Day) had to be checked to avoid the heels of UNI (Jockey D. Hayse), which was inclined to shift in away from CONCLUDER (Jockey W. D’Avila) when that horse shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey D’Avila was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside.

REGAL ROTH – For a short distance approaching the 100 metres raced in restricted room to the inside of another runner.


Race 4: Join the TTC 100 Club Now QTIS BenchMark 60 Handicap – 1200 metres
1st – ISTALENA 2nd – DASH OF WIZZARD 3rd – VO TREASURE 4th – PURRFECT TYCOON

KENNYNOPAS – Slow to begin.

STANDFORD – Slow to begin.

FIVE STARS – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

ISTALENA – Passing the 100 metres Jockey W. D’Avila dropped his whip.

TRY ME DOL – When questioned Jockey D. Simmons said that he was at a loss to explain the mare’s poor performance. He said that his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage of the race and was disappointing. Trainer Mr S. Potiris expressed his disappointment with the performance and undertook to report back in the days subsequent.

Race 5: Canadian Club Class 3 Plate - 1609 metres
1st – NUDGEE 2nd – SAIL THE STARS 3rd – JORDAN 4th – BEG PARDON

BLANCHARD BLOOM – Slow to begin.

STARMOSA – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened noticeably from the home turn, revealed that it was sore in front. Trainer Mr T. Haydon said that the gelding will now be retired from racing. Acting on this assurance, no action was taken.

Race 6: SKY Racing Open Handicap - 1400 metres
1st – SHEKOU 2nd – PRESS PLAY 3rd – PAYTEEVEE 4th – BO ROSSA

BO ROSSA – Began awkwardly with its head up and shifted out abruptly.

LOCKIEBE – Shortly after the start was crowded for room and had to be checked. Raced wide without cover throughout.

JUNEE BOY – Rounding the turn near the 900 metres had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room.

PRESS PLAY – Inclined to race greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.

Race 7: XXXX Gold BenchMark 70 Handicap – 1000 metres
1st – CLEAVER 2nd – LOVER OF LIFE 3rd – ZINDZELA 4th – JAXTER’S BALLET

A pre-race veterinary examination of JAXTER’S BALLET, which was resuming from a lengthy spell, did not reveal any abnormalities.

CLEAVER – Crowded for room shortly after the start.

JET DOWN ON IT – Joining the course proper near the 700 metres had to be steadied when racing tight to the inside of another runner, and from that point was inclined to race ungenerously with its head up.

PASSATORIO - Inside the final 100 metres was held up on heels and went to the finish without being fully tested.
