WE JUST LOVE IT – Slow into stride. Stewards spoke with Jockey W. D’Avila in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding, which raced below market expectations. Jockey D’Avila said that he had to ride the horse along throughout, after being slowly away, in an effort to keep in touch with the rest of the field. He added that he believed that the horse would be better suited over longer distances than that of today’s race, as indicated by its recent wins at northern venues. Nonetheless, stewards ordered that WE JUST LOVE IT be examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and no abnormalities were revealed.
