RACE 1: XXXX GOLD 2YO H’CAP – 1000M
 
MISS JETTISON – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Laid out near the 600m and steadied when crowded for room by CRAIGLEA AIRLIE, which shifted in slightly.
 
CRAIGLEA AIRLIE – Began awkwardly.
 
ALL GIRLS ROCK – Began awkwardly.
 
SHORT CIRCUIT – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
ELITE JET – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
SPECIAL STYLE – Raced 3 wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
 
 
RACE 2: THE COFFEE CLUB CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000M
 
The start of this race was delayed when CANNY AND THE JET proved difficult to load. Trainer L. Wright was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
PARTY TILL DAWN – Steadied near the 200m when tightened for room between HI MACKAY and LOVER OF LIFE, which shifted out to obtain clear running.  Jockey G. Kliese, rider of LOVER OF LIFE, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
HI MACKAY – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
 
RACE 3: MATER HEALTH SERVICES NORTH QLD MAIDEN  H’CAP – 1200M
 
WILL HE TORQUE – Slow to begin.
 
GUNGA GALUNGA – Slow to begin.
 
PRINCESS DONWAA -  Reluctant to proceed to the barriers and then was slow to begin. Took charge of its rider leaving the 800m and shifted to the outside fence, taking no competitive part in the race.  Trainer C. Lindren was advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards on 2 separate occasions prior to being permitted to race again.
 
GLOW LION GO – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
JUSTIFICATION – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the event.
 
WATTO’S JET – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
 
RACE 4: BLINDS FOR YOU OPEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
GUNDY STAR – Was fractious in the float enroute to the course, and was examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the track and cleared to start.
 
VO TREASURE – Began awkwardly, causing its rider, D. Simmons, to strike his right arm on the right-hand barrier gate and lost ground.
 
ACCIDENTAL – Was bumped on jumping away. Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 800m. Was forced wider on the track rounding the home turn by VO TREASURE, which shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
BLAME GAME – Was bumped on jumping away.
 
HEARTFELT QUEST – Had to be momentarily steadied near the 800m when racing in restricted room to the inside of HORACIO, which shifted in. HEARTFELT QUEST then commenced to over-race and shifted out, racing 3 wide without cover for the remainder of the race.
 
 
RACE 5: FORKLIFT IT NORTH QLD BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1300M
 
MISS HAVISHAM – Slow to begin.
 
GAINSFORD – After beginning awkwardly, was then tightened for room and lost ground.  
 
RACING HARADA – Slow to begin.  Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
 
JUMBO RUMBO – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
CAMPANULA – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
SLIPERTY SAGA – Lost its off fore plate during the race.
 
SERGEANT SHRIVER – A post-race veterinary examination found it to be showing soreness in the off knee. Trainer Mr R. Finch was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.
 
RACE 6: MACKEY WALES LAW BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1609M
 
DEE MINISHING – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost significant ground, and then was reluctant to stretch out for the remainder of the race.  Trainer M. Whitehouse was advised that the mare must trial to the stewards’ satisfaction prior to racing again.  A post-race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
FOREST WAY – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
WRITTEN INTENT – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
LIL’RED MONKEY – Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
 
RACE 7: THE VILLE RESORT – CASINO CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M 
 
LIKER – Slow to begin and then crowded for room shortly after the start. Severely checked near the 700m.  Apprentice R. Payne, rider of ZOE BAY, in the presence of senior rider N. Day, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a), in that near the 700m she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount shifting in and tightening the running of FLYING IGGY, which shifted in, tightening GOOD MUSIC, which had to be restrained and shift in, also tightening the running of LIKER, which had to be severely checked.  Apprentice Payne’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 17 December and to expire at midnight, 25 December. In considering penalty, stewards took into account Miss Payne’s recent exemplary race riding record.
 
COUNTESS MIA – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
GOOD MUSIC – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Restrained near the 700m.
 
KAP IT OFF – Jumped outwards at the start.
