Race 1: Mater Emergency Dept Class 6 Plate – 1400m  
 
REAL WARRIOR – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the middle stages. Shifted out near the 800m to improve and raced 3 wide from that point onwards. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
CRAIGLEA ODYSSEY – Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the race.
 
BIG TOMEE – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: H & S Communications QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1000m 
 
WICKED DANCER – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA ARION – Began awkwardly and shifted out, hampering another runner. Shifted out near the 750m, bumping with another runner.
 
RESADOWSKA – Slow to begin. Bumped by another runner near the 750m.  Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 700m. Raced greenly throughout and travelled 3 wide for the majority of the race.
 
OUR ALICIA’S LANE – Hampered by another runner at the start.
 
CRAIGLEA RUBBLE – Shifted in near the 700m, placing another runner in restricted room for a short distance. Rider C. Jokic was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of the colt failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3:  Hit 103.1 Ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1300m 
 
SYDNEY HARBOUR – Slow to begin.
 
SPLASH OUT – Began awkwardly. Rider P. Romeo dropped his whip near the 100m.
 
AROUND THE MOON – When questioned into today’s performance, rider A. Holt advised stewards that, in his opinion, the drop back in distance today may not have suited the gelding and he felt the horse would benefit in races longer than that of today’s event. Trainer R. Finch agreed with A. Holt’s assessment.
 
 
Race 4: Tropical Bricklaying Maiden Plate – 1400m 
 
WATCH ME DAZZLE – Slow to begin.
 
SLINKY TYCOON – Slow to begin.
 
DEACON BLACK – Put in an awkward stride near the 1200m and became unbalanced.
 
HATZ SON – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
CELESTIAL SON – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CRAIGLEA WARKAT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BUSH BANDICOOT – Lost its off front and off hind plate during running.
 
MAGNUS RULES – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a laceration to its near fore leg.            
 
Following the running of this race the track rating was upgraded to Good 3 retrospective to this event.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 5: The Quarterdeck TSV Class 6 Plate – 1000m 
 
EASY WEEKEND – The start was delayed when the horse proved difficult to load.
 
GUTZ CI – Hung out in the early and middle stages.
 
ROCK SPUR – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 6: The Coffee Club TSV Ratings Band 0-55 H’cap – 1609m 
 
TRY BEFORE DUBAI – Slow to begin.
 
MISTY ISLAND – Slow to begin.
 
JOHANTEE – Raced ungenerously throughout the race and hung out leaving the 650m, inconveniencing other runners near the 550m and again near the 500m.Raced wide for the majority of the race.   Trainer G. Bourke was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.
 
CONCRETUS – Inconvenienced near the 500m by another runner, which hung out. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
AESOP – Hampered by another runner, which hung out near the 550m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MOSS PRINCESS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DIAMOND RACER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PROSPERUM – When questioned in regard to the horse’s performance today rider W. D’Avila stated the gelding raced flat and did not respond to his riding leaving the 500m and was disappointing. Stable representative Mr R. Ryan was at a loss to explain the performance and undertook to monitor its progress going forward and advise Steward’s should anything come to his attention that may have had a bearing on today’s performance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery. Stewards advised connections they must furnish the results of an ECG prior to the horse completing a satisfactory trial.  
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 7: Townsville RSL Ratings Band 0-60 H’cap – 1000m 
 
MOLONGLE FIRE – The start was delayed when the horse became momentarily cast in the barriers, and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 5.27 pm on veterinary advice.
 
On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.
 
5 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
4 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win
7 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
8 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
Trainer B. Williams was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the horse prior to it racing again.
 
MOLONGLE DREAM – Slow to begin.
 
BELLA SASH – Slow to begin.
 
RAINING DOLLARS – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BLAZON TALES – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
I WANNA BREAK FREE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
KAHUNA – Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
