GENERAL
The following overweights were permitted:

Race 1: HYGAIN QTIS Two-Year-Old & Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 Metres
 
GINASUE – The filly, which was resuming after a lengthy absence from racing, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Reluctant to load.
 
GETONTHEDRAGON – Slow to begin.
 
OUR ADDICTION – Shifted out on jumping bumping with MISHANI MENACE, becoming unbalanced and then shifted in brushing the running rail.
 
MISHANI MENACE – Shifted in on jumping bumping with OUR ADDICTION.
 
NINETYNINE NOT OUT – Shifted in on jumping bumping with WHITTY’S DREAM. Shifted ground under pressure in the home straight.
 
WHITTY'S DREAM – Shifted out on jumping bumping with NINETYNINE NOT OUT. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LORD POWER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 2: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Maiden Handicap 1609 Metres
 
FESSUP – Steadied when crowded for room by MUMBO BOWLER leaving the 900m, soon after shifted in inconveniencing JESKO near the 800m.  
 
GETITON – Raced wide for the majority. Restrained off heels near the 800m.
 
MUMBO BOWLER – Shifted in leaving the 900m inconveniencing FESSUP. Rider M. Murphy was advised to exercise more care. Raced wide for the majority.
 
JESKO – Inconvenienced near the 800m by FESSUP which shifted in slightly when being restrained.Jockey J. Baker was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m being six times which is 1 more than is permitted. (1st offence).
 
OUR YOUNG MAN – Steadied off the heels of a tiring runner near the 250m and shifted inwards. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 3: 3 BROWN BROTHERS QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1200 Metres
 
KING JESTER – Crowded for room leaving the 100m. Performed below market expectations, a post-race  veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R Miller advised he intends to have an analysis of the gelding’s blood conducted and will advise Stewards of any adverse findings.   
 
MISS SEATTLE – Over-raced near the 800m. Held up for clear running near the 250m.
 
HUSETTE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
RISK IN ROME – Shifted out at the start bumping VIENNA CRUISE.
 
KAMARCHER – Slow to begin.
 
VIENNA CRUISE – Bumped on jumping.

IT'S A PLOY – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight forcing VIENNA CRUISE widerresulting in crowding to KING JESTER.
 
Race 4: MITAVITE Class 1 Handicap 1000 Metres
 
SUNNY EKCELS – Delayed the start when it lunged forward causing its front barrier gates to open. Underwent a veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
UNDER THE DUNES – Slow to begin.
 
BAKUHATSU – Restrained off heels near the 600m. App C. Colless was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m being six times which is 1 more than is permitted. (2nd offence).
 
GIORDANO – Restrained off heels near the 350m and shifted in to obtain clear running.
 
ALBERTESSA – Shifted in slightly becoming awkwardly placed on heels near the 200m.
 
Race 5: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES Class 4 Plate 1200 Metres
 
DON ARCANGELO – Slow to begin.
 
HURRICANE FIGHTER (NZ) – Began awkwardly.Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TENNESSEE WHISKEY – Shifted in at the start tightening runners to its inside.
 
ZABERFELDIE (NZ) – Buffeted between runners at the start and lost ground. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
OAKFIELD HIAWATHA – Buffeted between runners at the start. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
KEFALONIA – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
WAR GENERAL –Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6: TOWNSVILLE CUP SATURDAY 6 AUGUST BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1400 Metres
 
SIZZLESUN – Slow to begin.
 
MANSENETA – Slow into stride.

UNDOUBTED – Slow into stride.
 
GREENSKEEPER – Slow into stride.
 
RIVERSIDE SPECIAL – Commenced to race fiercely when crossed by other runners, having to be restrained off heels approaching the 1000m. Checked near the 300m to avoid the heels of LIGHT FIELD which shifted out. Rider S. Sheargold (LIGHT FIELD) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that he directed his mount outwards near the 300m when insufficiently clear of RIVERSIDE SPECIAL which had to be checked. S. Sheargold’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence 19 June 2022 up to and including 25 June 2022. Jockey Sheargold was advised his review rights.   
 
TOUCH OF BALI – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 7: WINTER CARNIVAL TICKETS ON SALE NOW OPEN Handicap1400 Metres
 
PANIAGUA – Shifted in soon after the start tightening runners to its inside.

BULLION WOLF – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
GREEN JACKET – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid in under pressure near the 300m tightening PANIAGUA which was restrained. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities
 
TENNESSEE BOY – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
SO YOU DREAM – Commenced to over-race when crossed by another runner near the 900m. 
 
BATTLE CRY – Shifted out around the heels of BUSTER BLOCK near the 300m crowding PANIAGUA which was restrained. Rider N. Day was reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a).
 
BUSTER BLOCK – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
GDANSK – Over-raced in the early stages. 
 
Race 8: LADIES DAY SATURDAY 30 JULY OPEN Handicap 1000 metres
 
THE EGYPTIAN – Bumped on jumping.
 
FANAAR (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
SIMPLY SPLASHING – Bumped at the start and lost ground.
 
LET'S GO BOBBY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FUNKY MUSIC – Shifted near the 200m bumping EL SHADAY, and becoming unbalanced. Disappointed for clear running on a number of occasions in the home straight.
 
ZOUVILLA – Shifted in at the start bumping SIMPLY SPLASHING. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BOLD TYPE – Shifted inwards on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
EL SHADAY (NZ) – Shifted out at the start bumping THE EGYPTIAN. Raced in restricted room in the early stages. Shifted in near the 200m bumping FUNKY MUSIC which shifted out.
 
HELMAZ – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
