Race 1: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Maiden Plate 1200 Metres

BURNE JONES – Kicked by another runner behind the barriers. Underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

EYE OF RA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority.

WITTSTOCK – Slow to begin. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have soreness to the near side flank area. Trainer P. Rowe was advised a veterinary clearance will be required prior to its next start.

GOLDEN CHANCES – Shifted out and away from ARMOUR FORCE which shifted out approaching the winning post when racing greenly. Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey N. Thomas to view the photo finish and also the films to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge to protest. After viewing the photo finish and race films he was satisfied with the result and declined to go ahead with protest.

GYPSY KING – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Bumped on the hindquarters approaching the 100 metres by LINCONA and became unbalanced. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

LICONA – Crowded for room near the 100 metres and shifted out a short distance later under pressure bumping GYPSY KING.

ROTHERO ESSGEE – Rider R. Stanley was dislodged behind the barriers prior to the start and cleared himself free of injury and able to fulfil his engagement.

LUMERAI- Raced wide for the majority of the race. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2: MITAVITE QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 Metres

HEROIC KITTY – Delayed start slightly when requiring a bridle re-adjustment.

RUNAWAY KISS – Slow to begin. Shifted wider leaving the 500 metres.

COSMIC STARLET – Slow to begin

MISHANI CAPTIVE – Crowded for room shortly after the start.

SHEEZ BEAN TALKIN' – Began awkwardly. Shifted wider leaving the 600 metres.

Race 3: TAB QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 Metres

PREMIUM STAR – Slow to begin. Shifted out abruptly approaching the 100 metres when racing greenly.

MYZAH – Slow to begin.

CATCH DIS – Slow to begin.

DOMINANT ROSE – Raced wide for the majority.

READYENTIME – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FORTY FOUR FLYER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

WHITTY'S DREAM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

MISHANI VIRTUE – Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised the filly’s nomination would be refused at TAB meeting until its form improves under the provision of LR25.

Following the running of race 3 Stewards upgraded the track to a GOOD 4

Race 4: HYGAIN RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1000 Metres

KEIGHLEY SUN – Slow into stride.

MURUNGAL – Began Awkwardly

GUMNUTS – Shifted in on jumping bumping with JIM’S PRINCESS. Improved onto the heels of another runner when entering the home straight and was restrained.

JIM'S PRINCESS – Shifted out on jumping bumping with GUMNUTS. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

MORE THAN CHARGED – Began awkwardly and crowded for room losing ground. Shifted in near the 650 metres crowding TACTICAL ILLUSION.

TACTICAL ILLUSION –Shifted in near the 700 metres crowding runners to its inside. Jockey S. Sheargold was advised to show greater care when shifting ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

BAY OF BENGAL – Crowded for room by TACTICAL ILLUSION which shifted in near the 700 metres.

STRATHBOGIE LAND – Raced in restricted room near the 250 metres and restrained.

WILD CHOICE – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer A. Bailey was advised a barrier certificate was required prior to its next start. Was unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.

FLYING ARTIST – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

MOLONGLE DRIFTER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

CHYNA XPRESS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

NEW YORK WORLD – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Lost off front plate during running.

Race 5: NATIONAL JOCKEY CELEBRATION DAY AUG 6TH BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1609 Metres

MANSENETA – Slow into stride. Race wide for the majority.

REBEL LAKE – Race wide for the majority.

ROC DE KHAPER – Race wide for the majority.

LUCKY FOR SOME – Race wide for the majority.

JOEL – Raced wide in the early stages.

CENTAUR – When questioned into the improved performance of the gelding Trainer K. Clark-Peoples advised stewards that in her opinion the gelding raced well in its previous start. With the step up in distance which is more suitable to the horse and a good run throughout the race aided the horses performance today. Trainer K. Clark-Peoples advised that horse was not supported through the stable at todays meeting.

Following this race jockey F.Edwards was indisposed. After an examination by Qld Ambulance he was stood down for the remainder of the day. Jockey Edwards was advised he must provide a medical clearance prior to his next race ride.

Race 6: FEED 2 GO Class 1 Handicap 1400 Metres

STRETCHING – Began awkwardly.

KAMARCHER – Slow to begin.

MISHANI TULIP – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.

ROYAL ARCHER – Over raced in the early stages throwing its head in air near the 1100 metres. Raced wide for the majority.

FIORENTE STAR – Jockey F. Edwards who was indisposed was replaced by R. Wiggins. Shifted out at the 300 metres momentarily hampering GETITON. Raced wide for the majority.

GETITON – Momentarily hampered at the 300 metres by FIORENTE STAR.

RIVER DAISY – Restrained off heels approaching the 100 metres.

SPIRIT MEISTER – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 7: AQUIS PARK BELLE OF THE BURDEKIN Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1400 Metres

MODERNISM – Shifted in and brushed the running rail near the 1100 metres. Difficulties obtaining a clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

SCENT OF FEAR – Shifted in to obtain clear running near the 300 metres bumping REAL EMPRESS.

REAL EMPRESS – Bumped near the 300 metres.

MAIN DE FOI – Disappointed for a run approaching the 150 metres, before switching back to the inside to obtain clear running.

AGUSTAWYND – Raced wide for the majority.

NORM'S CHOICE- Raced wide for the majority

AS YAWOOD- Raced wide for the majority.

OLD SCHOOL – Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.

POETIC ATTACKS – When questioned into the improved performance, stable foreman R. Ryan explained the mare was not comfortable on the firm surfaces of its previous two country starts although in his opinion raced well at its previous start over an unsuitable distance. He further added that with the step up in distance and the services of a more senior rider today were beneficial to the mares performance.

Race 8: GLOBAL WELDING SUPPLIES LIGHTNING OPEN Handicap 1000 Metres

DORDOGNE – As the gelding had not started for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

MOLONGLE SURPRISE – As the gelding had not started for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

TRU BLU TANGO- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.

RAISE DA VIBRATION- Slow to begin.

BAKUHATSU – Laid out under pressure approaching the winning post.

GAMBOA – Raced wide for the majority.

CHEVAUX- Raced wide for the majority.

Race 9: TOWNSVILLE EARTH MOVING Class 6 Handicap 1200 Metres

LIFETIME QUEST – As the gelding had not started for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

HELL OF A BOY – As the gelding had not started for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

THE CRUISER – Slow to begin and shifted in bumping BOMBASAY.

BOMBASAY – Slow to begin and shifted out bumping THE CRUISER. Over-raced in the early stages then raced ungenerously for some distance. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

BRILLIANT MIND – Over-raced in the early stages. Wide for the majority of the race.

TRAPASSI – Raced wide for the majority.

TEMPO – When questioned into the improved performance, trainer T. McGovern explained the gelding was having its fourth run back from a spell after its previous start over an unsuitable distance and was of the opinion that the benefit of those runs and a step up in distance from its previous start has benefited the gelding and it is now returning to form as prior to its spell. Stewards noted his explanation.

HEIRBORN – Stewards will inquire into an incident near the 400 metres when the gelding appeared to blunder at a date and time to be fixed.
