Race 1: MITAVITE QTIS TWO YEAR OLD Handicap 1300 metres
 
THE WALLET – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.  
 
BEAU RAIN – Shifted out at the start making heavy contact with CRAICARO. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.  
 
CRAICARO – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground. Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 200 metres bumping MISHANI AVIATOR.

MISHANI AVIATOR – Over-raced in the early stages. Bumped near the 200 metres and became unbalanced.   
 
Race 2: FEED 2 GO TRAINER & JOCKEYS CARNIVAL CHALLENGE QTIS MAIDEN Handicap 1200 metres
 
NOT A FAT BOY – Began awkwardly and shifted out crowding IMPERIUM and as a result lost ground.
 
IMPERIUM – After being initially slow to begin was then crowded by NOT A FAT BOY which began awkwardly and shifted out. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
MAMA’S MAN – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BEAUTIFUL BELLE – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Compounded over the concluding stages.  
 
RISKED IT – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
DEEP MYTH –Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.Raced wide for the majority.
 
HEISTOBY – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
MARALAH – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 3: TOP SHELF TRAINING RATINGS BAND 0-55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FROM THIS MOMENT – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer M. Geaney was advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners. Laid in for short distance near the 500 metres.
 
WINDPIPE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
JAKAZONE – Slow to begin. Restrained off heels near the 400 metres.Difficulties obtaining clear running for the majority of the home straight.
 
I LOVE RUBY – Over-raced in the early stages. When asked to explain the performance today jockey S. Sheargold was at a loss to explain the filly’s performance other than the time between runs may have had a bearing. Trainer K. Sheargold was of the opinion I LOVE RUBY may have resented the gear change of blinkers today and it is her intention to remove that gear prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  

STRATHCONA –Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SMART THINKER – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.

DUBAI EAGLE –Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 4: LADBROKE IT! RATINGS BAND 0-55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
ZOUHOPE – Slow to begin.
 
CAT IN THE RAINE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FUDGING – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CROWNING MOMENT – Shifted out at the start bumping LADY DAMUS.
 
LADY DAMUS – Bumped at the start. Forced wider near the 1000 metres and raced wide from that point onwards. When asked to explain the performance today jockey R. Wiggins was at a loss to explain the filly’s performance other than being forced to race wide however in his opinion was disappointing. Trainer S. Massingham was of the opinion LADY DAMUS may have resented the gear change of winkers today and it is his intention to remove that gear prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
SHEER ILLUSION – Commenced to race fiercely soon after the start resulting in its saddle shifting forward and shifted out resulting in LADY DAMUS being forced wider.
 
PRIVATE SECTOR – Shifted in when over-racing near the 1000 metres placing WELL WELL WELL in restricted. Awkwardly placed on heels over the concluding stages and was steadied.
 
WELL WELL WELL – Steadied near the 1000 metres when placed in restricted room by PRIVATE SECTOR which shifted in when over-racing.  
 
MAKE IT HAPPEN – Over-raced in the early stages.

Race 5: VALE JOHN FORSTER OPEN Handicap 1000 metres
 
ALL TIME LEGEND –Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted out over the concluding stages hamperingrunners to its outside. Rider R. Wiggins was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
DR NEIGH – Began awkwardly. Restrained off heels leaving the 500 metres. Lost its near hind plate during running.
 
GAMBOA – Raced keenly in the early stages.

PRIME RULER – Shifted out and away from ALL TIME LEGEND over the concluding stages hampering TYCOON THUNDER and INCHING CLOSER.
 
INCHING CLOSER – Hampered over the concluding stages. Raced wide for the majority.

TYCOON THUNDER – Hampered over the concluding stages.

OVERSEAS(NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.  

Race 6: MAURICE BLACKBURN LAWYERS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 Metres
 
STATS – Slow to begin.Lost its near hind plate during running.
 
NIGHT GUY – Began awkwardly.
 
STARFILLY – Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
TRODAIRE – Restrained off heels when unable to improve near the 500 metres. Difficulties obtaining clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
COOLMEANS(NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.

BONYTHON – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 7: HYGAIN QTIS THREE YEAR OLD Handicap 1300 Metres
 
HYPOTHESIZE – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
FODOR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Restrained off heels near the 1000 metres.  
 
EMATHION – Jumped out at the start bumping YAMAMOTO. Inclined to lay in approaching the 100 metres and was disappointed for run between MR KOBO and HYPOTHESIZE leaving the 100 metres as a result.   
 
YAMAMOTO – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
BREAKWATER BOY – When asked to explain the seeming improved performance today to that of its previous start jockey J. Stanley explained the gelding was not comfortable on the heavy track and also the removal of blinkers today allowed the gelding to settle better in the run on the better surface. Trainer L. Hatch agreed with J. Stanley’s comments. Their explanation was noted.   
 
REDAVINI – When asked to explain the performance today jockey C. Whiteley explained that in his opinion the filly may have come to end of its preparation. Trainer’s representative R. Ryan was of a similar opinion and would discuss its preparation with the owners in view of it being sent for spell. Their explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.   
 
MR KOBO – Over-raced in the early stages. Lost its near fore plate during running.
 
BABY GUINNESS – Raced wide for the majority.
 
DYSTOPIAN – Riders whip broke leaving the 1000 metres.  
 
Race 8: LADBROKES MAGNETIC ISLAND MILE OPEN Handicap 1609 metres
 
NIGHT OF POWER(IRE) – Slow to begin. Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
MYSTERY ‘N’ MAGIC – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
RAZMENT – Slow to begin.
 
HEALING GAME – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Unable to obtain clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
LE VIZIR – Raced wide for the majority.
 
HEIRBORN(NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 9: GALLAGHER INSURANCE BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1200 metres
 
CIRCULARITY – Fractious in the barriers becoming cast and was declared a late scratching at 4.51pm. All monies invested on CIRULARITY were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 4.51PM: A post-race veterinary examination revealed superficial lacerations to both hind legs abnormalities.

MORE THE MERRIER – Rider C. Whiteley was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount to the finish line. Stewards were satisfied it had no bearings on the finishing places.
