Race 1: XXXX GOLD CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of R. Goltz as the rider of SEQUOYAH.

POOKIES GRIN – When questioned as to whether there was an opportunity to maintain a trailing position behind the leader during the middle stages of the event rather than surrendering this position to another runner, jockey M. Powell advised that due to the strong early tempo set, he was of the view to restrain his mount during the middle stages to allow the horse to travel more comfortably which in his opinion would have enabled the mare to finish the race off to its full potential, bearing in mind the steep weight rise tonight from its most recent win. Stewards, whilst noting the reasons of jockey Powell, advised him, however, they were of the view he should have made greater effort to maintain a position trailing the leader, which would have allowed his mount to settle in a more forward position during the event.

ATTRACTION – Overraced in the middle stages.

FILLE ARDENTE – Raced wide throughout.

WARNING SIGNAL – Began awkwardly and then trailed the field throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer N. Bertram was advised that the gelding must trial before being permitted to race again.

BONNAY FLYER – Momentarily steadied near the 900m.

Race 2: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE 0-62 H'CAP – 1300M

DENMARK HILL – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

STEEL TO THE HEEL – Forced to steady to avoid heels approaching the 200m. Apprentice T. Williams (DENMARK HILL) was advised to exercise more care for permitting her mount to shift in at that point of the race.

COME BY OFTEN – Overraced in the early stages.

Race 3: WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1200M

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of L. Tilley as the rider of POUND ON TUBBY.

HIT THE ROAD JACK – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Laid in in the early stages. On returning to scale jockey G. Geran advised Stewards that after obtaining a forward position the gelding travelled comfortably during the event, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding. Jockey Geran added that given that the horse was first up for some time tonight, it would derive a significant fitness benefit from tonight’s run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

MARKSFIELD – Began awkwardly.

LORD BEAUFORT – Forced to restrain to avoid the heels of another runner near the 900m.

RED KISSES – When laying in near the 1100m was forced to ease to avoid the heels of another runner which itself shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Improved on to heels near the 700m and was steadied.

POUND ON TUBBY – Raced in restricted room near the 900m and made contact with the running rail when racing to the inside of RED KISSES, which shifted in whilst laying in despite the efforts of its rider. Lost the near fore plate in running.

CAPSIZED – Brushed the running rail near the 900m.

BLACKMORE VALE – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

LUCKY BOBBY – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout without cover.

Race 4: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT BM65 H'CAP – 2150M

SPORT OF KINGS – Made the home turn awkwardly and lost some ground.

MORVEN – Tightened for room and checked near the 1700m when SCRAPINDIPITY was taken in by SERALA, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. R. Goltz, the rider of SERALA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift in at that point when insufficiently clear. R. Goltz’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, with the term of suspension to commence at midnight on Sunday 2 August and expire at midnight on Wednesday 12 August 2015.

SCRAPINDIPITY – Raced wide from the 1100m. Tightened for room near the 1700m, taken in on to the running of another runner.

GOLDEN CYGNET – Tightened for room, checked and became unbalanced near the 1700m. N. Evans, the rider of SPORT OF KINGS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that at that point he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of GOLDEN CYGNET. N. Evans’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, with the term of suspension to commence at midnight on Saturday 25 July and expire at midnight on Sunday 2 August 2015.

MISS WONDERFILLY – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground and as a consequence settled further back in the field than anticipated. Tightened for room, checked and became unbalanced near the 1700m.

GETTIN'JIGGYWITHIT – Began awkwardly.

Race 5: HOT FM QTIS 2YO CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1050M

TIBROGARGAN MISS – Fractious in the mounting yard and made heavy contact with the enclosure fence, examined by the veterinary surgeon in the enclosure and again at the barriers and passed fit to run. Stewards questioned Ms Van Der Sanden in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance. She advised that after beginning well she obtained a leading position and travelled comfortably throughout the event. She added that when placed under pressure she expected the filly to quicken, however it failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing over the concluding stages. Ms Van Der Sanden added that in her opinion the filly may take fitness benefit in that it was racing first up in tonight’s event. Trainer D. Hansen’s representative advised Stewards that the filly had pleased the stable with its work in preparation for tonight’s event and furthermore that the filly had won a private jump-out on the Tuesday prior to tonight’s event and therefore they had expected a forward performance tonight. He added that following the event it was apparent that the filly would derive an obvious fitness benefit out of tonight’s event and he would inform Stewards should anything come to light in coming days which may have had a bearing on the performance. Stewards noted the comments. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

WILL TO RULE – Raced wide in the early stages.

SEQ THE STAR – Near the 750m was forced to steady to avoid the heels of TIBROGARGAN MISS, which shifted in when not fully clear. A. Van Der Sanden (TIBROGARGAN MISS) was advised to exercise more care.

WILD ELEMENT – Slow to begin.

Race 6: FURNEYS STOCK FEEDS BM80 H'CAP – 1050M

BUSH CAVIAR – Tightened on jumping away. Raced wide throughout. Hung out during the middle stages of the event.

NUDE SECRETS – Raced wide throughout.

TIME TO EXCEED – Hung out during the middle stages of the event.

Trainer G. Teal’s representative was advised that the horse’s nomination would be restricted to non-TAB meetings.
