Race 1: Clive Berghofer Land Sales QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 870m

ON THE SIDE - Began awkwardly and made contact with CELTIC MIST.

CELTIC MIST – Bumped out at the start. Raced wide throughout.

OUR CINDERELLA – Momentarily steadied shortly after the start. Improved onto heels near the 500m and was steadied.

HOT LIPSTICK – Momentarily steadied near the 700m when placed in restricted room. Bumped by another runner near the 400m.

RUSTIC FEEL – Bumped by another runner near the 400m.

BEYOND LIMITS - Raced greenly throughout the event.

SCRIPTS – Following the disappointing performance, trainer J. Dann advised that the filly would be spelled immediately.




Race 2: Harvey Black Truck Sales BM65 H'cap – 1625m

PRINCE OF PEACE – Bumped on jumping away.

STRAIFFIC – Bumped on jumping away. Tightened for room approaching the 400m and had to be checked by its rider.

SWEET CRACKER – Raced wide throughout without cover. Stewards questioned apprentice B. Newport in relation to his riding of the horse during the early and middle stages of the event. Of concern to stewards was the reason for him racing in a 3 wide position on the pace when there appeared an opportunity for him to cross UNIQUE MISTIQUE to a position one off the fence outside the leader. Apprentice Newport advised that approaching the 1200m it was his intention to cross UNIQUE MISTIQUE, however as he was not sufficiently clear he was forced to race in a 3 wide position throughout the event. Having had the opportunity to review the films, apprentice Newport agreed with stewards that he had erred in not placing SWEET CRACKER under more pressure after passing the 1200m to cross UNIQUE MISTIQUE, which would have afforded him an easier run throughout the event. Stewards took the matter no further, however advised apprentice Newport that his ride would be referred to the Racing Queensland Apprentice Training Department for their attention.

TREASURES SECRET – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had been galloped on on the near hind leg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.


Race 3: Queensland Insurance Services Class 1 H'cap – 1300m

FEYTALISTIC – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground.

ZETTFIDAA – Hung out rounding the home turn and shifted wider on the track. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

ISTALENA – Raced wide throughout.


Race 4: Harvey Black Group Cup Class 3 Plate – 1000m

EXTRA SHOT – Slow to begin and was further hampered at the start when tightened for room and as a result lost ground and settled further back in the field than anticipated.

PUFF’S GIRL – Laid out rounding the home turn.

TURBO TEDDY – Raced wide throughout.

TRY ‘N’ CATCH ME – Raced wide throughout without cover.

PUFF’S GIRL – Jockey M. Schrapel was fined $100 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.


Race 5: Super Rooster Maiden H'cap – 1050m

SABA LASS – Began awkwardly and was tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Laid in during the early stages of the event.

ONEMOREMELODY – Bumped at the start.

OUR HAWKINS – Began awkwardly and made contact with another runner.

SEQUENTIAL STAR – Slow into stride.

THERE’S NEMO – Steadied from heels shortly after the start.

DUPRE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

STORM ANCHOR – Jockey N. Faithfull reported her mount raced greenly throughout the event.

COLD AS ICE – Checked near the 300m when tightened for room after SABA LASS shifted out after being awkwardly placed at the heels of HAPPY MEDIUM, which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. A post race veterinary examination of the mare, which weakened over the concluding stages, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


Race 6: Downs Rural Medical BM70 H'cap – 1200m

PIVOTAL POINT – Bumped on jumping away.

CASINO EXPRESS – Bumped on jumping away. Raced wide in the early stages. Checked near the 100m. Apprentice B. Newport pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 100m when insufficiently clear of CASINO EXPRESS, resulting in that runner being tightened for room and checked. B. Newport was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 8 days, to commence at midnight, 7 November and to expire at midnight, 15 November.

ROMAN SECRET – Bumped shortly after the start.

PIVOTAL POINT – Bumped shortly after the start.

GIRLS COMMAND – Slow to begin.

VICE OR VIRTUE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.


Race 7: McNab QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1200m

KID CRUIZE – Steadied from heels leaving the 800m when the pace of the race steadied.


DRUM STYX – Forced to steady from the heels of another runner near the 700m. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

STEAMPUNK – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

SHEZA HOTTI – Steadied from heels leaving the 800m when the pace of the race steadied.
Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.

KISS FOR GRAN – Held up rounding the home turn.

DEVIL’S RUM – Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn. Raced wide without cover throughout.
