Plumb, rider of IN HER HAND, was advised to exercise more care.  Placed in restricted room near the 1100m and forced to ease when RODANOS shifted in when not completely clear.  Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained near the 900m and shifted wider on the track.   Buffeted between runners near the 700m.

Jockey Appo further advised that over the concluding stages he eased his mount down as he felt something may have been amiss with the filly.  Trainer B. Currie could offer no explanation for the performance of the filly, which he advised had jumped out well in preparation for tonight’s event.  A post race veterinary examination  following the race failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.   Trainer B. Currie was advised that should no  abnormality become apparent in the days following tonight’s event he would be required to barrier trial the filly over a minimum distance of 800m prior to its next race start.

RACE 5: METROLL TOOWOOMBA CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1850M

Yoshida allowed his mount to stride forward in the race.

Williams reported that after beginning well her mount travelled comfortably throughout the event, however when placed under pressure from the 700m failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing.   Stewards will speak with trainer Mr R. Lipp in the days subsequent to tonight’s event in relation to the horse’s performance.  A post race veterinary examination  revealed the horse to have a nasal discharge and an abrasion to the off side hock.

RACE 6: WINNING EDGE CG&E MAIDEN H'CAP – 1100M

On return to scale a protest was lodged by S. Bogenhuber, rider of the 3rd placegetter, TEMUJIN’S RULE, against REAL DYNAMITE being declared 2nd, alleging interference over the final 100m.  After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol video, stewards found that near the 50m REAL DYNAMITE laid in, bumping with TEMUJIN’S RULE, however as stewards could not be satisfied that had this bump not occurred that TEMUJIN’S RULE would have finished ahead of REAL DYNAMITE, and therefore  dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.

STELLAR KNIGHT – Slow to begin.

SUPERVISOR – Raced wide throughout.

FUZZY MELON – Raced wide throughout.
