Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Trainer M Currie and Apprentice N Fazackerley the rider of ALL JEED UP, placed 2nd by the Judge, lodged an objection against MAHOE GOLD being placed 1st, alleging interference near the 50m.  After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards found that MAHOE GOLD (R Palmer) did shift out under pressure over the concluding stages, making slight contact with ALL JEED UP (App. N Fazackerley) and forcing that runner off its line. Stewards however could not be comfortably satisfied that had this interference not occurred that ALL JEED UP would have finished ahead of MAHOE GOLD at the conclusion of the event, particularly given the proximity of the incident to the conclusion of the event and the long neck margin between the runners. Stewards therefore dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the Judge’s semaphored numbers.
