GENERAL
 
As Jockey’s B Nothdurft and R Jamieson were unable to ride due to personal reasons, riding replacements were approved as per the raceday summary.
 
 
Race 1: FURNEYS STOCK FEEDS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1300 metres
 
COUP – Shifted in at the start.
 
MAHUSSEY – Hampered at the start.
 
LAURIE –Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HONEY BABY – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
ALERT AND READY – Slow to begin. Shifted out three wide and ridden forward from the 700m.
 
 
 
Race 2: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1850 metres
 
ELIZANO- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
PATH AHEAD- Began awkwardly. Made course proper crossing awkwardly and shifted wider on the track as a result passing the 1500m.
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT – Rider S Lacy was fined $300 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip 6 times, prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
MISS BEAT- Hampered at start. Inclined to over-race in the early stages.
 
 
 
Race 3:  TAYLOR BUILDING GROUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 870 metres
 
ASK AUDREY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Inclined to lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
COCO DIABLO - Obliged to restrain and taken in onto the running of another runner passing the 700m.
 
ELIGIST – Trainer Mark Currie was fined $200 under the provisions LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the required time.
 
SPIRITOMO- Obliged to restrain when tightened for room passing the 700m.
 
MISS BARTY- Tightened for room and obliged to steady passing the 700m.
 
BOOGIELU- Trainer Tracey Wolfgram was fined $100 under the provisions LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the required time. Slow to begin. Passing the 700m, shifted in when insufficiently clear of COCO DIABLO (S Bogenhuber) which was obliged to restrain and was taken in onto the running of SPIRITOMO (S Lacy) which had to be checked. Subsequently, Jockey T Wolfgram pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) with his license being suspended for a period of 9 days to commence at midnight 12 Feb 2022 up to and including 21st Feb 2022. In determining penalty Stewards considered Mr Wolfram’s good record in relation to the rule, his guilty plea, as well as the degree of carelessness and interference which were deemed to be in the mid-range.
 
 
 
Race 4: TOOWOOMBA PLASTICS Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
BANDIT-Inclined to lay in during the early part of the home straight.  Post-race veterinary examination found the gelding to be shin sore in both forelegs. Trainer Pat Duff advised it would now be his intention to spell the gelding.
 
OUR MAGNUS- Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
 
EUPHRATES- Shifted in soon after entering the home straight and contacted the running rail. Obliged to shift off the heels of a tiring BANDIT passing the 200m.
 
ZOUESAY- Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
EXTRAVAGANT PRIDE- Inclined to over-race in the middle stages.
 
ANGEL GRACE- Momentarily crowded for room at the start.
 
STAR OF COUTEAU- Momentarily held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
WHEN DOVES FLY- Momentarily hampered passing the 700m.
 
BINNALONG BELLE - Trainer Chris Anderson was fined $200 under the provisions LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the required time.
 
REBEL LEADER- Inclined to lay in passing the 500m and became awkward on heels. Rider reported that the filly was found to have gotten its tongue over the bit in running.
 
VALERIE- Raced wide for a major part of the race. Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
 
 
 
Race 5: RACING NATION ON POWERFM Maiden Handicap 1625 metres
 
Trainer Vivian Coombes was fined $200 under the provisions of AR56(1), for failing to scratch RED VEGAS by the required time. The mare was subsequently ordered a late scratching at 9.37am.
 
Apprentice A Jones was cautioned for failing to fulfil her engagement on GIRRAMAY. Stewards permitted Apprentice W Peel as the replacement rider.
 
DIS GO BOOM- Commenced to over-race when crossed by another runner passing the 1400m. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GIRRAMAY- Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer P Bobic was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until a point near the 100m when shifted wider to improve.
 
GIBBED- Began awkwardly.
 
MY WHISTLEBLOWER- Obliged to momentarily ease and shift out around the heels of another runner passing the 500m.
 
SECRET KING- Inclined to race keenly in the middle stages.
 
EASY JOY- Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 6: AG RIGGING QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
LEFTY LUNACY- Slow to begin.
 
NED'S GULLY- Tightened at the start. Over-raced on heels passing the 700m.
 
GAZZMAN- Bumped at the start and tightened soon afterwards. Laid in and away from another runner passing the 800m. Steadied passing the 700m before shifting in and becoming awkwardly placed on heels for some distance thereafter.
 
FIRE UP BRUCE- Began awkwardly and shifted in and bumped another runner.
 
SPIRIT PRINCESS- Shifted out at the start bumping with another runner.
 
SANKELISKAR- Bumped with another runner on jumping before being crowded.
 
FLAMIN' READY- Unable to muster any early pace, subsequently settled at the rear of the field.
 
DELTA MISS- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Raced wide for a major part of the event.
 
 
 
Race 7: GETOUTSTAKES.COM.AU QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
HURRICANE HALL- Bumped with another runner at the start.
 
SEENUSCOMING- On returning to scale it was identified that the saddle had slipped back in running placing the rider at a disadvantage.
 
THE REAL SAINT- Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner. Brushed the running rail passing the 600m.
 
MAHBABY- Dwelt in the barrier before beginning awkwardly. Commenced to race ungenerously when racing in restricted room passing the 800m. Held up for clear running on from the 500m until a point near the 400m when shifting wider to obtain clear running.
 
TWILIGHT BOOM- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
PONGA'S GIRL- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 8: CARPET ONE Class 3 Plate 1000 metres
 
I'MTWENTYFOURSEVEN- Shifted in at the start and hampered runners to its inside.
 
SCARE CAMPAIGN- Shifted out abruptly to improve inside the 100m momentarily hampering runners to its outside.
 
SPLASHER- Bumped by another runner at the start and soon afterwards became awkwardly placed on heels. Apprentice Jones was reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out to the end of the race.
 
INTIMATE TYCOON- Momentarily hampered leaving the 100m. App A Thompson dropped his whip passing the 200m.
 
KEEPMOVING FORWARD- Began awkwardly.
 
RUN THE CUTTER- Momentarily crowded passing the 800m.
 
URALBA- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with another runner before becoming awkwardly placed on heels.
