Race 1- VIEW HOTEL BRISBANE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1300m
 
LOBURN LASS- Trainer B Hull was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR165(1) for failing to have the mare present on course by the prescribed time.
 
 
 
Race 2- PRYDE’S EASIFEED EASIPERFORMANCE BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1300m
 
OSTERMEIER- Trainer A Sweeney was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR165(1) for failing to have the gelding present on course by the prescribed time.
 
 
 
Race 1: MNP SECURITY CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
 
JULIETTE STREET- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Buffeted on jumping. Crowded passing the 800m and was obliged to ease.
 
OUR BOY BORRIS- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped. Raced wide for the majority.
 
TURBOART- Blundered on jumping. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
SELLING SUNSET- Buffeted on jumping becoming awkwardly placed on heels and obliged to ease as a result.
 
BASTILLE DAY- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped. Jockey J Murphy advised that he was obliged to place his mount under pressure for the majority of the race and the gelding performed disappointingly in the home straight.
 
MOST DAZZLING- Hung in rounding the 800m crowding runners to the inside. Co-Trainer T Sears was advised a warning would be placed against the geldings racing manners as a result. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
ESPANYOL- Crowded by MOST DAZZLING, which hung in rounding the 800m, shifting in and away from that runner crowding JULIETTE STREET.
 
OUTLAW JOSEY WALES- Laid in under pressure passing the 100m.
 
HISGRACE- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
 
 
 
Race 2: RANVET-TRUSTED PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1300m
 
HIGHER LOVE- Bumped on jumping. Laid out passing the 800m. Jockey L Tilley advised that his mount had travelled fairly well throughout but when pressured failed to muster and in his opinion may have resented the softer racing surface. Trainer P Nolan stated that he was disappointed with eh performance and concurred with Jockey Tilleys assessment of the racing conditions. Trainer Nolan undertook to advise Stewards should anything become apparent regarding the geldings condition in the coming days.
 
HEAT- Bumped on jumping. Laid out marginally under pressure momentarily hampering JACKPOT JAY, Jockey K Zechner was reminded of his obligations as a result.
 
SHEINDLIN- After beginning only fairly and being caught in a wide position App Rabjones permitted her mount to stride forward obtaining a one-off position to the outside of TELEPHONE BOOTH and the equal lead passing the 800m.  App Rabojnes was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
TELEPHONE BOOTH- After being inclined to race keenly in the early stages commenced to over-race from the 1000m until a point near the 800m.
 
 
 
Race 3: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING WINTER PROVINCIAL SPRINTERS – HEAT- BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000m
 
ELOQUENTLY- After being fractious and becoming cast in the barriers underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to be lame in the near-fore leg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 5:56pm on veterinary advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 5:56pm:
 
34cents in the dollar for the win
15cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
30cents for 2nd place
27cents for 3rd place
 
Trainer S Tregea was advised the mare would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
ZAITEKI- Raced wide for the majority.
 
EXCEED ROCK- Trainer M Currie advised that the stable had expected a forward showing as the geldings form last preparation had been quite good, adding that the gelding did not appreciate the Heavy going in its last start at the track. Stewards noted the explanation. A post-race blood sample was taken for analysis.
 
 
 
Race 4: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE QTIS 3yo MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m
 
The start time for this event was rescheduled to 18:30pm.
 
DON’T DISS AROUND- Dwelt in the barrier and bumped heavily on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MARCIA AURELIA- Began awkwardly and bumped heavily on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near-fore leg. Trainer D Groves was advised was advised the filly would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
LEXUS LADY- Laid in passing the 1000m tightening SEA SHELL FLY which was restrained and shifted in and away onto the running of TOMBOY’S SPIRIT which was obliged to check. App M Savva was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident and though Stewards noted the manners her mount in the incident App Savva was advised to exercise greater effort in straightening her mount in similar circumstances. Laid in again passing the 800m. Trainer K Kemp was advised a warning would eb placed on the fillies racing manners.
 
SEA SHELL FLY- Obliged to restrain and shift in away from another runner passing the 1000m. App A Jones was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
TOMBOY’S SPIRIT- Began awkwardly. Obliged to check losing ground passing the 1000m.
 
OMBRE VOLANTE- Held up for clear running from the 200m and obliged to ease soon after, going to the line without being fully tested.
 
VONZITHER- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
 
SIR JOHNY- Finished tailed off. Trainer S Mesken advised on the morning of 05/06/2022 the gelding had pulled up shin sore and would be sent for an immediate spell.
 
 
 
 
Race 5: REDDING FRY FINANCIAL ADVICE MAIDEN 1000m
 
SENOR SEPPY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly.
 
GEORGIES BOY- Trainer S Hardy was reprimanded under the provisions of LR67(1) for late declaration of rider. Began awkwardly.
 
GODDESS OF DREAMS- Slow to begin.
 
COURTING ROCK= Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
RISING SPIRIT- Raced wide for the majority.
 
VINTAGE- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
 
SHOWLACE SOUP- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
LEASBURN NICCI- Jockey S Bogenhuber was reminded of her obligations under the provisions of AR132 in relation to her whip arm being raised above shoulder height.
 
 
 
Race 6: HANNAS TOOWOOMBA QTIS 2yo MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
CRAOGLEA LAKI- Reluctant to load. Trainer K Johnston was advised a warning would be placed on the filly as a result.
 
NAUGHTY WORDS- Resultant to load. Trainer M Currier was advised a warning would be placed on the filly as a result. Laid in rounding the home turn bumping heavily with MISS CINNAMONCIDER. Laid in when abruptly under pressure soon after straightening. Whilst no interference occurred App A Jones was nonetheless reminded of her obligations. App Jones was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip on 7 occasions, 2 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
JACKED UP- Slow into stride. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MISS CINNAMONCIDER- Bumped heavily by another runner which laid in rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 7: CARPET ONE TOOWOOMBA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1850m
 
DROP THE PILOT- Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced keenly when the pace slackened on entering the back straight. Performed below market expectations. Jockey L Tilley advised that, in his opinion, his mount did not handle the softer racing surface. Trainer P Nolan advised that the gelding would likely be sent for an immediate spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer P Nolan was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
STAR DIVA- Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT- Raced keenly passing the 1500m.
 
NITROGLYCERINE- Permitted to stride forward approaching the 1500m to settle in a one-off position outside the leader rather than being caught wide and consequently settled further forward than may have been expected.  
 
GOT THE LOT- Raced wide until a point near the 1300m. Inclined to race keenly down the back straight shifting wider leaving the 1000m.
