GENERAL



Stewards permitted the following overweights:



Race 2- Jockey S Apthorpe +0.5kg

Race 3- Jockey C Rogers +1kg









As Jockey C Eaton was not riding at tonight’s meeting due to personal reasons rider replacements were made as per Stewards race day summary.





Co-Trainer C Geran was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR36(6) for failing to scratch the dual acceptors CONAIR and PRYCE from one of their respective event by the prescribed time.







Race 1: QUEENSLAND ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS MAIDEN PLATE 870m



CHEERS MATE- After a pre-race veterinary examination it was found that, despite being advertised as a colt, the horse had undergone a gelding procedure. This was advertised by way of oncourse announcement. Trainer M Nolan was reprimanded under the provisions of AR206 for failing to enact a stable return to reflect the gelding status accurately. Additionally, Mr Nolan was directed to amend and backdate the stable return to reflect the horses status as a gelding. Crowded near the 700m and raced ungenerously for some distance after.



POWER SISTER- Trainer M Park was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR165(1) for failing to have the filly on course by the prescribed time.



EURO PRINCE- Slow to begin. Shifted in under pressure approaching the winning post momentarily becoming awkwardly placed on heels.



WINDJANA- Slow into stride. Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running.



REAL DRAMA- Became momentarily awkward on heels near the 700m having to be eased before being crowded near the 600m.



BAG OF WHITT- Shifted in under pressure near the 200m having to be momentarily steadied to avoid heels before being correct by its rider.



DEECE SCENT KISS- Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running.







Race 2: GERRY BROWN’S SHELVING & STORAGE RATINGS BAND 0-58 HANDICAP 1200m





ENTERPRISE MAXIMUS- Trainer B Gorman was reprimanded under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the gelding. After being caught wide in the early stages elected to press forward to obtain a forward position closer to the inside running rail near the 900m.



OUTASTEP- Jockey S Apthorpe was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. In determining penalty Stewards took into account Jockey Apthorpes excellent record in relation to the rule. Raced wide for the majority.



AND OVER AGAIN- Slow to begin before blundering soon after. Shifted ground under pressure down the running before shifting in abruptly passing the winning post momentarily hampering LOVE YA BLUE. Jockey G Geran was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances



BRINGTHELOVE- Began awkwardly.



CHARGED- After being caught wide in the early stages elected to press forward to obtain a forward position closer to the inside running rail near the 900m.



LOVE YA BLUE- Raced keenly passing the 900m. Momentarily hampered passing the winning post.



ISSAQUAH- Raced wide for the majority.



FOXY XENIA- Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer K Kemp undertook to advise Stewards should anything become apparent regarding the mares condition in the coming days.







Race 3: THE FARM PROTECTORS RATINGS BAND 0-58 HANDICAP 1200m



BEARHUG- As the barrier blanket could not be fixed the gelding was loaded into the barrier without that piece of gear. Raced keenly when placed on restricted room near the 700m and ontinued to do so until a point near the 500m.



COMFORTABLY NUMB- Bumped on jumping.



WIDE LOAD- Bumped on jumping. Shifted in inconveniencing TYCOON DANCER passing the 350m before being quickly corrected by its rider. App E MacPherson was severely reprimanded as a result of this incident.



TYCOON DANCER- Bumped on jumping and taken in bumping with a further runner. Inconvenienced near the 350m.



MARMARIS- Dwelt in the barrier before being slow into stride. Obliged to momentarily ease off heels near the 800m before shifting wider and racing wide from that point.



BOOM ROCKER- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride.



FLYING KASS- Began awkwardly before being buffeted between runners and becoming awkward on heels and obliged to restrain. Improved onto heels approaching the 800m having to be eased and shift out momentarily hampering MARMARIS.



ZORROS GHOST- Bumped soon after the start.



JOHNNY THUNDER- Raced wide for the majority.



LOUBARD- Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have bled from both nostrils in running. As this was the first such occurrence Trainer M Currie was advised the under the provisions of AR79 the gelding would now occur a three (3) month ban from racing and be subject to a 1000m gallop in the presence of a Stewards prior to again being permitted to start in a race.







Race 4: JEFF HANAFORD INGLEWOOD CUP 2022 BATTLE OF THE BUSH TOOWOOMBA QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1200m



Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey K Yoshida, rider of 4th place getter AVOCA, to view the patrol footage to ascertain whether grounds for an objection against 2nd place getter VERTICAL (App W Peel) were present. After viewing the footage Jockey Yoshida elected not to proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared on the Judges semaphored numbers.



GOSSIAUX- Began awkwardly. Finished tailed off.



RURAL REBEL- Shifted in abruptly soon after jumping, despite the efforts of its rider, tightening runners to its inside before continuing to lay in for some distance thereafter. Trainer A Park was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners as a result.



SEE FOR YOURSELF- Became awkwardly placed on heels soon after the start and was obliged to ease.



VERTICAL- Became awkwardly placed on heels and obliged to steady when tightened soon after the start. Shifted in when insufficiently clear of AVOCA (K Yoshida) leaving the 600m causing that runner to be checked and loose its rightful running. App W Peel was subsequently found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding and her license to ride in races suspended for a period of 10 days to commence 20th June 2022 up to and including 29th June 2022. App Peel was advised of her right to an internal review.



KAPPY CINO- Shifted wider passing the 800m when racing keenly and continued to do so until a point near the 700m.



AVOCA- Tightened for racing room and obliged to check leaving the 600m.



TYCOON THUNDER- Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running.



NEW ALLIANCE- Disappointed for a run near the 150m and obliged to shift in.



CORAJILLO- Momentarily steadied when crossed near the 1000m and became awkward in its action. Jockey K Zechner advised that at that time he felt his mount may have gone awry and commenced to restrain his mount from that point and took no competitive part in the race. Neither a veterinary examination immediately subsequent to the event or another sometime later revealed any significant abnormalities. Trainer C Rogers undertook to advise should anything become apparent regarding the mares condition in the coming days. Stewards intend to review the better records of the event.









Race 5: HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSAYR JENN & GARY BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200m



COAT OF ARMS- Began awkwardly.



PURE PURGATORY- Stood flat footed before beginning awkwardly and being slow into stride. Co-Trainer C Geran was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners as a result. Jockey S Lacy advised that, in her opinion, he mount resented the tongue tie in running.



BLACK MONACO- Raced keenly on heels from the 600-500m.



KEEP MOVING FORWARD- Raced wide in the early stages. App I Rabjones was reminded of her obligations under the provisions of AR131(b).



STAR OF HARADA- Obliged to shift wider in the home straight when held up for clear running passing the 100m.



ROYAL WAREFARE- Under pressure from the 800m and commenced to tire noticeably from the 600m. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer S Cole was advised the geldings nominations would be refused at TAB meeting until such time as its non-TAB form had improved.







Race 6: WIN LOCAL NEWS QTIS 3yo BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200m



JACK BE LUCKY- Shifted in and bumped on jumping.



PERFECT ENCOUNTER- Buffeted on jumping and lost ground.



ALCASO- Shifted out ad bumped on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer K Afford was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings competitiveness.



BEAN DANCING- Momentarily raced keenly near the 1100m when crossed by a clear running. Inclined to shift in under pressure down the running.



CHATTY LADY- Began awkwardly. Shifted out passing the 200m to obtain clear running.







Race 7: MOORE TRAILERS COUNTRY HEIST BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000m



HARD ENOUGH- Began awkwardly. Jockey C Rogers was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip on 9 occasions, 4 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.



NOMBUSCO- Dwelt in the barrier. Following the event was found to be lame in the off-fore leg. Trainer B Sheppard was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.



YALANJI- Began awkwardly before becoming momentarily awkwardly placed on heels soon after.



LEICA SPECIAL- Raced wide in the early stages. Performed below market expectations. App M Savva advised that after travelling well during the event her mount failed to let down when pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer K Kemp undertook to advise Stewards should anything become apparent regarding the mares condition in the coming days.



TRUE TALLY- Raced wide for the majority.



LEARNING CURVE- Raced wide for the majority.







Race 8: HAPPY 45TH ANNIVERSARY RON & SHIRLEY BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1625m



BLUE CORNER- As App M Kennedy was unable to fulfil her engagement due to illness Stewards permitted App W Peel to be substituted as rider of the mare. App Kennedy was advised she would require a medical clearance prior to again being permitted to ride in a race.



SALAZAR- Stood flat footed. Trainer M Kropp was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners as a result.



GRATSIE- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.



MADAM CHA CHA- Raced keenly on heels for a short distance near the 1300m.



GONZO- Raced wide in the early stages.







Race 9: BPI TOOWOOMBA MAIDEN HANDICAP 1625m



EPIC LOVE- Stood flat footed. Trainer C Geran was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners as a result.



GRINZINGER HULK- Bumped passing the 1500m.



HE DID IT- Bumped passing the 1500m. The saddle slipped on the gelding near the 800m placing App S Stephan at a disadvantage from that point before shifting again on rounding the home turn, as a result the gelding took no competitive part in the event.



SCARRED FOR LIFE- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and raced wide from the 1300m. Laid in passing the 800m.



SUDDEN SUSPECT- Raced wide in the early stages.



SHE WIZZ- Raced wide in the early stages.
