GENERAL

Due to the late arrival of the ambulance, all races were rescheduled back one race time, and the last race at 4.15 pm.

As L. Attard was indisposed, rider changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet..

Trainer M. Palmer was fined $100 for the late declaration of riders for Changly in Race 4 and Danish Hombre in Race 5.

Race 1: QFFS QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1100m

EMPHASIS – Raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained near the 950m. Rider R. Goltz reported at scale his mount raced greenly throughout the event.

BURG AL – Obliged to steady from heels near the 1000m when the pace of the race steadied. B. Newport, rider of Fair Ruler, which was racing forward of Burg Al, was reminded of his obligations regarding excessively slowing the pace of a race.

LETTER BOX – Forced to steady from heels in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination of the colt, which tailed off, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer G. Teal was advised that the colt would be required to jump out satisfactorily prior to racing again.

KODAJET – Rider S. Bogenhuber was questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the filly. Jockey Bogenhuber started her mount began well and travelled comfortably throughout the event, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. As trainer S. Iverson was not present at today’s meeting, stewards will question him a later date in relation to the horse’s performance.


Race 2: Queensland Electrical Solutions Maidne H'cap – 1100m

ISLAND EMPIRE – Made contact with the running rail near the 500m and became unbalanced.

SHIBSA SAKURA – Made contact with the running rail near the 800m, became unbalanced and lost ground. Laid in for the majority of the home straight and proved difficult to ride out.

SNOWFINK – Began awkwardly.

LITTLE BOMBER – Began awkwardly. Rider N. Nishio was reminded of his obligations in relation to the use of the whip on horses out of contention

CUBAN PRINCESS – Forced to steady to avoid heels near the 800m.

Race 3: Paul Hannant Memoril Maiden H'cap – 1100m

G’DAY BLUE - which refused to proceed to the barriers, was declared a late scratching at 1.43 pm. All monies invested on G'day Blue were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

6 cents in the dollar for the Win #1
4 cents in the dollar for place of winner #1
18 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2
9 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #5

SP bets are subject to deductions

Trainer R. Smith was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.

SNACK ON THE RUN – Laid in near the 150 and had to be steadied from heels, and then laid in for the remainder of the home straight, proving difficult to ride out.

Race 4: Neil Mansell Transport Maiden Plate – 1650m

HIDDEN SILVER – Tightened for room at the start. Raced ungenerously with its head in the air whilst being restrained in the early and middle stages.

NOW LISTEN – Tightened for room at the start.

CHANGLY – Began awkwardly and shifted in.

ZAHA COUNTY – Tightened for room at the start. Raced wide throughout.

METEORIC WOMAN – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Made contact with the running rail near the 1200m.


Race 5: XXXX Gold Class 2 H'cap – 1650m

LIDO – Slow to begin.

CROCKETT’S MISTAKE – Momentarily steadied near the 800m when placed in restricted room by another runner.

NEVER IGNORE – Rider B. Stower reported her mount raced flat today and proved disappointing in the home straight. Trainer G. Schwenke advised that following the disappointing performance today the gelding will now be spelled.

Race 6: Neil Mansell Concrete Class 1 H'cap – 1100m

BAY RUST – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground and as a result lost ground.

LOVETHENIGHTLIFE – Bumped another runner at the start and lost ground. Steadied from heels near the 800m.

SNEAKY PETERSON – Bumped another runner at the start.

VIVID IMAGINATION – Forced to steady to avoid heels of another runner near the 200m and laid in from that point. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider B. Stower stated that the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the event, however when placed under pressure from the 500m, her mount failed to run on and proved disappointing.

RED WARNING – Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider B. Newport advised from the wide gate he was forced to race wide. He added that the horse hung out throughout, and when pressured proved disappointing.


Race 7: Charlton Tyre Service Class 3 Plate – 1000m

Trainer R. Lipp was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for Obliviate by the prescribed time.

EXCEEDINGLY FINE - Began awkwardly. Clipped heels, blundered, losing considerable ground when attempting to shift out rounding the home turn.

THE RIGHT ONE – Began awkwardly.

GIRLS COMMAND – Raced wide from the 700m.

ROWA’S MARK - Improved onto heels near the 800m and was checked.
