RACE 1: GRAIN TRADERS MAIDEN PLATE 825M
No racing incidents.
RACE 2: AGL SOLAR CLASS B HANDICAP 1100M
ROYAL DOLLAR – Due to no rider being available was scratched at 11am.
LYNYRD SKYNYRD – Tightened for room and lost ground at the start. Forced wider near the 800m and continued to do so from that point onwards.
PARELEMA – Had to steady from heels shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the early stages.
RACE 3: WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL WAMBO CUP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
Start of the race was delayed when STARSPEED dislodged rider and galloped a considerable distance was declared a late scratching at 2:38. All monies invested on STARSPEED were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions to apply:
0 cents in the dollar for the winner #2
6 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #2
6 cents in the dollar for second place #3
5 cents in the dollar for third place #5
READY TO RUMBLE – Slow to begin.
MISTER CALYPSO – Rider reported at scale that the saddle shifted back during the event. Inclined to lay out in the home straight.
JAREL’S DRAGON – Rider reported that the mare commenced to hang out leaving the 800m. Raced wide throughout.
FUZZY MELON – Jockey W. O’Connell was fined $100 for use of whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
RACE 4: LOCAL BUSINESS HOUSES OPEN HANDICAP 1200M
MINIVER – Slow to begin.
BELLE EXPRESS – Raced wide throughout.
RACE 5: PATRONS AND ASSOCIATED SPONSORS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200M
Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards and connections of POP’S SON to view the start. After viewing the patrol footage it was established that the barrier gate opened slowly, resulting in the gelding loosing considerable ground. Stewards therefore declared POP’S SON a non-runner. All monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions to apply:
0 cents in the dollar for the winner #2
6 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #2
6 cents in the dollar for second place #3
5 cents in the dollar for third place #5
QUATTRO FANTASICO –Due to no rider being available had to be scratched.
CARBON TAIKUN – Near the 800m has to be steadied from heels and was forced to shift out.
LOFN – Slow to begin. Near the 800m was inconvenienced when tightened for room.
TEEMOLTON – Slow to begin. Post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame near fore leg. Trainer M. Smith will be advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to its next start.
MAN OVERBOARD – Raced wide throughout.
