GENERAL
 
Race 4- Due to Appr A Donald being dually engaged replacement as per the Stewards Summary.
 
 
Race 1: IOR RURAL MAIDEN PLATE 825 metres
 
FRIDAYS JET- Jumped awkwardly at the start and made contact with ADELAIDE MOMENT which lost ground. Stewards spoke with Trainer T Hall regarding the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. Mr Hall advised that the horse was new to the stable and being a smaller stable he is able to spend more time with the horse. The gelding had settled in and has been working well. The stable expected a forward showing at todays meeting. Stewards noted Mr Hall’s explanation.
 
GAZZMAN- Travelled wide with no cover for the majority.
 
MISTER QUICKSTEP- Began awkwardly and bumped BACHVARA shortly after the start, as a result MISTER QUICKSTEP became unbalanced and lost some ground. Ran on strongly after entering the home turn.
 
ROYAL MIDNIGHT- Began okay, raced greenly for the majority, and travelled wide with no cover for the majority. The gelding appeared to lose ground from the 600m point and was tailed off from the 300m. Trainer L Gersekowski was advised by Stewards that a Warning would be placed on the horse for its racing manners today.
 
SINGLE RISE- Tightened for room after the start and continued to be tightened for a short distance after the start and as a result lost ground. Stewards spoke with Appr Jockey O Kendall, Jockey’s R Payne and G Walters advising them they expected better of them and ordered the riders to exercise more care.
 
ADELAIDE MOMENT- Bumped by another runner at the start and lost ground.
 
BACHVARA- Began awkwardly, was bumped by MISTER QUICKSTEP to the outside shortly after the start. As a result did lay in and bumped SINGLE RISE it then continued to tighten the runners to the inside for a short distance despite the efforts by the rider.
 
POLYGAL- Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier gate on jumping, then continued to hang out for a short distance tightening the runner to the inside despite the efforts of the rider.
 
 
Race 2: RDO EQUIPMENT QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 metres
 
 
 
MAILOUT- Laid out under pressure over the final stages of the event.
 
PALENTIFUL- Jockey R Payne advised stewards she felt the horse was not suited to the track conditions today. Stewards noted Jockey Payne’s comments.
 
TELL THE WORLD- Stood flat footed at the start, improved into the race at the 600m point and ran on strongly over the final stages. Stewards advised Stable Representative Mr R Hay that a Warning would be placed on the horse after today’s performance.
 
THREE MORE WISHES- Laid in under pressure over the final stages.
 
SINGLE CHARGE- Laid out for the majority.
 
WHISKEY ROW- Hung out from the 600m for a short distance.
 
Stewards did delay the announcing of correct weight to allow Appr Jockey O. O’Donnell and Mr R Hay an opportunity to view the photo image. All parties were satisfied with the placings as semaphored by the Judges and Stewards subsequently declared correct weight.
 
Race 3:  MAXUM FOODS CLASS B Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
BEARNAS- Travelled wide after entering the home turn and ran on strongly after entering the home straight.
 
AGRACIANA- The start was delayed allowing for a pre-race veterinary examination of the horse. It was subsequently passed fit to run by the attending Veterinarian. Slow to begin and failed to go forward despite the urgings of the rider to improve and as a result it raced at the tail of the field for the majority of the event. After entering the home straight, it tended to hang out for the remainder of the race. Stewards will speak with Trainer R Pereira in coming days regarding its run today and order that the Mare trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next start.
 
RISING SPIRIT- Raced wide during the middle stages of the event.
 
JONDY ALL SET- Travelled wide with no cover from the 400m, dropped back in the field at a point prior to the home turn.
 
NAYTELLRHI- On returning to scales Jockey Payne was found to be .8kg overweight. Stewards enquired into the incident and subsequently fined R Payne the sum of $200 for weighing in overweight under AR211(1).
 
VERY SOON- Race wide with no cover for the majority of the event.
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed allowing the rider of the second placegetter an opportunity to view the photo image of the finish. Jockey P Randall was satisfied with margin and the placings as semaphored by the Judges and Stewards subsequently declared correct weight.
 
Race 4: OAKEY BEEF EXPORTS WARRA CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1100 metres
 
 
MISHANI’S OPERATOR- Slow to begin. Stewards spoke with Appr Jockey S Willcock regarding the performance of the gelding. She stated he worked hard to get the lead and began to improve from the 500m, it did hang out for a short distance in the home straight, but she felt that it did fail to respond to her riding over the final stages. Began to weaken from the 150m point. A post-race Veterinary examination was undertaken, and the horse did bleed from both nostrils. Stewards notified Trainer S Iverson acting under AR79(4) the horse would be banned from racing for three months.
 
TOURMASTER- Bumped by another runner to the outside shortly after the start.
 
MIRALIE- Travelled wide with no cover from the 600m for some distance.
 
JACKPOT JAY- Travelled wide for the majority with cover, from the 300m when trying to improve raced wide with no cover for some distance.
 
NOT LIABLE- Bumped by another runner shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
OAKFIELD TARGET- began awkwardly.
 
RIGHTHERE RIGHTNOW- Jumped in at the start and bumped NOT LIABLE which lost ground. Continued shifting in after the start for a short distance and bumping TOURMASTER. Rider was forced to ease off heels approaching the 600m.
 
KALIYA- Travelled wide with cover for the majority and extremely wide from the home turn.
 
SPECIAL CASE- Stewards replaced Appr A Donald with Jockey G Walters due to Ms Donald being dually engaged. As no other suitable apprentice was available Stewards accepted Trainer Mr A Donnelly’s request to use a senior rider. Stewards advised Mr Donnelly to ensure he takes appropriate measures when engaging a rider in the future. Was slow to begin, failed to travel the early speed and was tailed off for the majority despite the best efforts of the rider to improve. Travelled wide with no cover from the 800m point.
 
Race 5: BRIGALOW GENERAL STORE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400metres
 
 
BRAVE NICK- Jumped awkwardly and bumped SUNSOUTGUNSOUT shortly after the start became unbalanced and lost ground.
 
SUNSOUTGUNSOUT- Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Failed to go the early speed and was tailed off from that point for the early stages. Then travelled extremely wide prior to entering the home straight and finished the race off strongly.
 
JONDY ROCKET- Began awkwardly and bumped MISHANI PHAROAH at the start, then stumbled slightly at the 1350m point. When leaving the 1300m point travelled wide with no cover to a position outside the leader. Weakened noticeably over the final stages.
 
MISHANI PHAROAH- A pre-race veterinary examination was performed on the gelding due to it racing at Dalby on Thursday he 25th August 2022. The horse was passed fit to start. Jumped awkwardly at the start and was bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Raced wide with no cover for the majority.
 
BADGE OF GAMENESS- Rider reported the horse didn’t seem to travel well from the 1200m, when being asked for an effort from the 600m it failed to respond to his riding despite his best efforts to improve. G Walters also advised the horse felt good in its action.
 
TOP MELODY- Raced wide with no cover for the majority.
