GENERAL

Due to the scheduling of race times at the nearby Toowoomba meeting, late rider replacements were made as per the race day summary.

RACE 1: HOMEMAKERS WARWICK MAIDEN HCP – 1100M

After being unable to proceed to the barriers and dislodging its rider on multiple occasions, LITTLE BOMBER was declared a late scratching at 1:18pm. All bets invested on LITTLE BOMBER were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and place-getters prior to 1:18pm:

O cents in the dollar for the win #5 (OLE PABLO)
7 cents in the dollar for place of the winner #5 (OLE PABLO)
5 cents in the dollar for 2nd place getter #2 (STARBYTE)
7 cents in the dollar for 3rd place getter #8 (MRS BOOLE)

G. Teal, the trainer of LITTLE BOMBER, was advised that the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily in the presence of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

SOMERSET DAWN – Began awkwardly and was then bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Eased from the heels of another runner near the 900m.

STORM ANCHOR – Shifted in abruptly shortly after the start making contact with SOMERSET DAWN. Shifted in and away from another runner near the 900m.

JAMAICA BLU – Raced greenly in the early stages. Shifted in abruptly near the 900m.

OLE PABLO – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted out near the 200m to obtain clear running.

MRS BOOLE – Shifted out near the 200m.


RACE 2: PETER STEWART AUTOMOTIVE CLASS B HCP – 1100M

ZARACHA – Was slow to muster early speed. Hung in over the concluding stages.

BEYOND THE STORM – Bumped by another runner at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

STREET FASHION – Jumped in at the start making contact with another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Tightened for room between ONE BIG PARTY and CHARZOOKA when both runners shifted ground near the 200m and had to be eased. At a subsequent enquiry jockey S. Apthorpe, the rider of ONE BIG PARTY, and apprentice M. Schrapel, the rider of CHARZOOKA, were both advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

TRY ‘N’ CATCH ME – Tightened for room at the start and had to be steadied losing ground. Held up for clear running from the home turn until nearing the 150m. When questioned in regards to the performance, apprentice R. Ride stated that the instructions were to obtain a forward position and after being tightened at the start, she had settled further back than anticipated. She added that after obtaining clear running, the gelding finished strongly over the concluding stages.


RACE 3: BILL & MARGARET HOIBERG MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

EXPLICIT MATERIAL – Began awkwardly. Bumped by another runner near the 1000m and was forced out.

JAMOBY GIRL – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Rider reported at scale that the filly raced greenly throughout the event.

MYTYBYTE – Jumped out at the start and made contact with another runner. Bumped by another runner near the 1000m

COME OVER JOE – Jumped in at the start making contact with another runner.

ELEGANT ELLIE – Tightened for room at the start between runners.

REAL DYNAMITE – When the pace of the race slackened near the 1000m, jockey D. McIntosh was forced to restrain and shift out marginally to avoid another runners heels.

HAYIL MATADOR – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

BENNY BEAU YANG – Raced wide for the majority of the event.



RACE 4: ERGON ENERGY BMK 55 HCP – 1350M

EASY TO SMILE – Reared as the start was affected and lost ground.

COMMANDER BOLTZ – Was slow to begin.

MIDNIGHT BEAUTY – Jumped in and made contact with another runner.

THIS IS WAR – Jumped with its head in the air and lost ground.

GANADO EXPRESS – Had a tendency to hang out throughout the event.

FLORAL NOMAD – Trainer E. Ensby was fined the sum of $100 for presenting the gelding to race without a tongue tie.



RACE 5: GROVE JUICE SQUEEZE BMK 70 HCP – 1100M

CHOSEN COURT – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.

EXCEEDINGLY FINE – Jumped out at the start making heavy contact with another runner. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Eased off of the heels of another runner shortly after rounding the home turn.
