GENERAL
 
As Apprentice Zac Sprie was unable to fulfill his engagements for reasons acceptable to Stewards, the following replacements were approved –
 
Race 1: SCRUFF'N'STUFF – Apprentice T Orr.
Race 4: FLICK – Apprentice P Carter.
Race 5: CANNY BOY – Apprentice J Metcalfe.
 
Race 1: KEN MILLS MACHINERY KINGAROY BURNETT TO THE BEACH SERIES - RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1100 Metres.
 
BARCLAY'S BANK – Slow to begin. Shifted out slightly passing the 200m when Jockey M Butler momentarily dropped his offside rein. Jockey Butler was able to regain the rein a short distance after and straighten his mount.
 
TAKEMEOUTBACK – Raced wide throughout the event. Whilst the horses were pulling up after the finish of this event, approaching the 900m TAKEMEOUTBACK stumbled and fell, dislodging Jockey Hannah Phillips. Jockey Phillips received attention by on course QAS officers before being transported to hospital for further medical
treatment. A post-race Veterinary examination of TAKEMEOUTBACK identified the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer C Henry was advised that he would be required to provide a Veterinary clearance prior to the gelding racing or trialling again.
 
VIZONE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide until entering the home straight.
 
SCRUFF'N'STUFF – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Taken wide on the track passing the 800m when TRUE TALLY commenced to hang out. Raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
TRUE TALLY – Passing the 800m, commenced to hang out and forced SCRUFF'N'STUFF wider on the track. Jockey A Spinks reported that in his opinion TRUE TALLY resented the kickback from todays racing surface. Trainer M Bailey was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for today’s racing manners.
 
Race 2: C & M MACHINING QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. Set Weights 1000 Metres.

BILYARA – Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Raced wide and took no competitive part in the event. Jockey A Spinks reported that in his opinion the gelding resented the kickback from today’s racing surface. Trainer S McEwan was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for today’s unsatisfactory performance.
 
EMPEROR TEIO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
SEEYOU LATER – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
ABSALON TULIP – Began awkwardly, became unbalanced resulting in the mare shifting in and bumping BILYARA. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FITZROY PLAIN – As Jockey H Phillips was unable to fulfill her engagement due to being injured in the previous event, she was replaced by Apprentice T Orr. Inconvenienced between runners shortly after the start and was obliged to steady, resulting in the mare losing ground.
 
PLATINUM ROSE – Raced wide throughout.
 
THE DEVASTATOR – Underwent a resaddle on arrival to the barriers at the request of the rider.
 
BRAIDWOOD QUEEN – Began awkwardly and bumped SEEYOU LATER.
 
Race 3: WONDAI DIGGERS CLUB CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres.

COAT OF ARMS – Taken wide on the track by STOICAL which hung out rounding the home turn.
 
STOICAL – Despite the efforts of its rider, commenced to hang out from the 400m until rounding the home turn, forcing COAT OF ARMS wide on the track. Trainer R Hay was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for today’s racing manners.
 
WHERE'S TEKAY NOW – Blundered on jumping. As a result, the gelding became unbalanced and took no competitive part in the event. A post-race Veterinary examination of WHERE'S TEKAY NOW identified minor lacerations to the bulbs of the heel on the near foreleg.
 
Race 4: THE NORM ANDRESEN MEMORIAL RATIINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP 1000 Metres.

ALBION SQUARE – Inconvenienced on jumping when FLICK jumped inwards. Raced wide throughout.
 
JAIN – Shifted wide on the home turn and was inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
FLICK – Jumped inwards at the start. Approaching the 100m, shifted out to avoid the heels of MOROCCAN MOON which was weakening over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5: DEB FRECKLINGTON MP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1577 Metres.

TRUE PATRIOT – Slow to begin.
 
THE BRUMBY – Raced wide throughout.
 
CANNY BOY – Slow to begin.
 
FEND OFF – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
