Race 1: REGALS DENTAL BM60 HANDICAP – 1800M

MEATBALL – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

FLAME PRINCESS – Laid in under pressure in the straight. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer S Sigvart stated that in his opinion, FLAME PRINCESS failed to see out the 1800m and would now freshen up the filly and drop her back in distance.

POETIC PETE – Permission was granted for jockey M. Murphy to ride 1kg over due to no other available rider.

AUSSIE TYCOON – Slow to begin.

GLADISHING – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, jockey S Wiseman stated she was under no real instructions other than to be slightly more positive as she was of the opinion that there was no real pace in the race and her mount was stepping up in distance. She added GLADISHING jumped well and was able to take up a position in the lead without much effort. Trainers representative M Stephens concurred with jockey Wiseman and added that GLADISHING is a one paced horse and with the step up in distance, felt that racing closer to the speed would benefit the gelding. Stewards noted the explanation but reminded M Stephens of the provisions of AR100(1)(a).

Race 2: CLASS B HANDICAP – 950M

WINNINGTON – Jockey M Haley was examined by the on-course Ambulance officers after being dislodged en route to the barriers and was subsequently passed fit to fulfill his remaining engagements. Jockey M Haley stated his mount raced greenly throughout and failed to respond to his riding at any stage. Trainer P Fleming was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of WINNINGTON.

BITTERGREYMAGIC – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

PAIBLE – Slow to begin and failed to muster early speed. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

ROSAIRE – Permission was granted for M. Murphy to ride ½ kg over due to no other available rider. Rounding the home turn, had to be steadied off the heels of REZABELLE when taken wider by WINNIGTON who shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

SILVER LUCY – Raced greenly in the home straight. Rounding the home turn, had to be steadied after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of ROSAIRE.
