RACE ONE

EVERYTHING HAPPENS (5) has the wide gate to negotiate, but he has been in super form since joining the Chloe Butler stable. Runner-up in successive starts, he franked those efforts with wins at his past two outings. Taking them all the way last start from gate 2, the three peat is within reach.

MONTEREY JACK (1) was a winner from the second line here three starts back over the 1780m trip where he was able to power over the top to score. Buried away two starts back, he did it tough when parked last start, holding 3rd, albeit some 18m in arrears. The improved gate at 2040m helps.

VODKA EN ICE (2) will strip fitter from his latest appearance where he was resuming from a spell. Firing out from gate 1 to hold the front, he was just 3m away. This is a big step up, but he has claims.

ZARAS A TREASURE (3) has been runner-up at her past two appearances, the latest when best of the chasers behind THE MAHARANI. Settling handy, she is a podium player once again.

SELECTIONS: EVERYTHING HAPPENS (5), MONTEREY JACK (1), VODKA EN ICE (2), ZARAS A TREASURE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: EVERYTHING HAPPENS (5) to win

RACE TWO

MOTU AMETHYST (1) found ideal conditions here last week when finding the pocket trail from gate 3 and with the good trip, angled into space and pulled clear to a 6m margin. Her previous form was sound without much going in her favour and from the good gate can look for a repeat.

COURAGEOUS SAM (9) angled to the poles last start from gate 8 to search for the shortcuts and when the gaps opened was hitting the line in smart fashion to be under 4m from the winner. Showing some early hustle two starts back, he receives no favours from this alley but can challenge.

HIGH ON MONTANA (5) started from the second line last time out and was unable to get warm as THE MAHARANI controlled it from the front. Too far back the start prior, he can be working into this.

ILLBEWATCHING (8) was hemmed away in the run last time out over the 2040 and like most out of that race, could not bridge the deficit behind THE MAHARANI. With the right trip he has claims here.

SELECTIONS: MOTU AMETHYST (1), COURAGEOUS SAM (9), HIGH ON MONTANA (5), ILLBEWATCHING (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MOTU AMETHYST (1) to win

RACE THREE

MUMMYS BOY (8)
was asked to hang tough first over at the middle trip at headquarters two starts back and faded after the hard trip. Spearing across to lead from gate 3 here last start, he led every step bar the one that counted when beaten a pimple. With the right trip, he can arrive.

KANYE CRUSADER (5) is racing well without receiving the winning reward as he searches to claim his first win in over 12 months. Chasing home for the bronze last start behind HECTOR, he was attacking the line with gusto here three back when 2nd to ISOLATION. The gate stings but he can challenge.

JILLIBY JACKPOT (1) fired off the arm here three starts back at the 2040m trip and looked to have every chance with a pedestrian opening half but could not see it out. Unplaced in both runs since, the gate is a big help.

AMERICAN FLYER (3) eased from gate 6 last start and from back int the pack never really worked into the battle. Runner-up to HECTOR two starts back from this gate, she can make a play.

SELECTIONS: MUMMYS BOY (8), KANYE CRUSADER (5), JILLIBY JACKPOT (1), AMERICAN FLYER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MUMMYS BOY (8) to win

RACE FOUR

THE SPORTZ STAR (7)
was second up from a spell and in Qld last time out when sliding across to find the 1x1 trail from gate 6 and then chasing for 3rd behind CAMROLLER. Tackling a tough contest first up taken by SAGINAW, he can secure the perfect trip here to make the closing shot a winner.

MISSTREPO (1) sat back in the pack here last week after retreating from gate 5 to find position. With a well-timed challenge, she sailed home down the outside to arrive for a 2m winning margin. Backing up on Saturday night in a mare’s qualifier when 2nd to UPTOWN BEACHGIRL, conditions suit here.

BAKER CREEK (5) was taken back from this gate last start and from deep in the pack never warmed up as HECTOR took victory. Gate 7 over the AP 2138m was her undoing the start prior and despite the gate she can chime in here.

ISOLATION (8) was a winner here four runs back when sent to the front from gate 4 and dictated in claiming a 2m margin. Runner-up at his past two attempts, in strong AP company, he is right in this.

SELECTIONS: THE SPORTZ STAR (7), MISSTREPO (1), BAKER CREEK (5), ISOLATION (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-7-8

RACE FIVE

GETALOADATHISBRO (4)
had the hustle to find the front from this same gate at the 1780m last week and once in control was able to take them all the way, holding on for a neck margin. The opposition looks no harder, the big query being his poor record at the middle trip he faces here.

VERMONT (1) started from gate 3 last start and was required to race tough when parked outside the leader throughout. Not shirling the task, she loomed strongly and only went under by a neck margin. Wide off the track two starts back when 2m from the winner, the improved gate is a big asset.

SONNY ORLANDO (7) started from gate 2 last time out when able to secure the 1x1 trail. With the ideal trip, he owned superior closing speed to take a 5m victory. He will need some luck in this.

FEEL THE THRILL (3) was hemmed away from inside the second line last time out but found the space to get clear air and arrive for a half-neck victory. From this gate he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GETALOADATHISBRO (4), VERMONT (1), SONNY ORLANDO (7), FEEL THE THRILL (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

MOON OVER MONTANA (2)
started from the second line here three starts back and put into the battle early, did some work in the run when holding on for the silver behind MANHATTAN LASS. Starting from the second line at her past two, she has the alley to dictate.

CEE SIXTY THREE (1) is yet to hit the board in 15 attempts but there have certainly been circumstances conspiring against him in a few of those. Gate 9 was his undoing last time which followed six successive outings from outside the front line. Back to a tight gate, he gets a chance.

GAME KEEPER (7) settled in the running line last start and was trying to make ground wide off the track when finishing midfield. Fading after trying to take them all the way two starts back, the cosy trio should suit.

HEAVENLY SEA (5) chalked up another minor last time out to make it five in succession in the minors. Using the passing lane to be under 2m from the winner, the wider gate makes it tougher.

SELECTIONS: MOON OVER MONTANA (2), CEE SIXTY THREE (1), GAME KEEPER (7), HEAVENLY SEA (5)
SUGGESTED BET:  MOON OVER MONTANA (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

BERTILS FIREFOX (4)
found the ideal conditions here two starts back when holding the front in the early stages and taking them all the way to score a narrow victory. Buried away in transit last start as GETALOADATHISBRO scored from the front, he can be stoked up and this is within reach.

OUR DOLLY (7) secures the second line options as the only runner out the back and comes into the contest with a last start 3rd. Pressing forward from gate 4 to take control on that occasion, she faded in the latter stages as DUKE arrived. With the right trip she can make a challenge.

THE CROM (2) was a winner from this alley three starts back when settled in the running line before making a closing challenge to take a 2m margin. Not too far away in both runs since, he can chime in.

NEVAEVABEND (5) settled in the 1x1 trail last start and was trying to issue a closing challenge when 3m in arrears of the winner and not aided by a flat tyre. The gate stings but she has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: BERTILS FIREFOX (4), OUR DOLLY (7), THE CROM (2), NEVAEVABEND (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BERTILS FIREFOX (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

CLARES FOOL (5)
is in search of the hat-trick after wins at the 2040m here on The Triangle before his last start win in a new PB over the AP mile. Sent around them to sit parked and grafting it out in that contest, he fought them off to claim a neck margin. This is no harder and the threepeat is on.

AROONA (4) has hit the board in 3 of his past 4 starts, the latest when using the passing lane after finding the pocket trail from gate 3. Wide off the track when closing out for 3rd here two runs back, he can find position here to throw down a closing challenge.

THE REAPER (6) is a trotter taking on the pacers from the tough gate and comes into this contest as a last start winner from a 30m impost. With a handy record on this deck that shows 4 wins and 4 minors, he is in the mix.

VALKYRIE HANOVER (1) doesn’t own the greatest win strike-rate, but her last win came when starting from this gate and settled in the trail. With the cosy trip on offer, she is a place hope.

SELECTIONS: CLARES FOOL (5), AROONA (4), THE REAPER (6), VALKYRIE HANOVER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CLARES FOOL (5) to win
