GENERAL
Stewards approved the following overweight for today’s meeting:
Race 5: RODEO LEGEND - C Meehan +1kg = 56kg
 
Race 1: THREE WAY PHOTOS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. Set Weights 1000 Metres
 
PAULI – Began awkwardly.
 
DAUNTING LADY – Steadied from heels passing the 500m and shifted in onto the rail. Shifted wide on the home turn.
 
EARTHAXEAZE – Apprentice Jockey S Willis reported that EARTHAXEAZE was bumped passing the 800m and became awkward in its stride, resulting in the mare weakening from that point of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of EARTHAXEAZE revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K Afford was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for the poor performance.
 
SO IT BEGINS – Shifted wider rounding the home turn.
 
CRAIGLEA THERA – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice Jockey L Barr reported that the filly raced greenly throughout the event.
 
CROSS OF SCARLET – Jumped inwards at the start and hampered SWEET 'N' ELITE which was slow to begin. Held up for a run over the last 50m resulting in the filly going to the line without being fully tested by its rider.
 
ICE BLIZZARD – Slow to begin.
 
SWEET 'N' ELITE – Slow to begin. Hampered at the start and lost ground when CROSS OF SCARLET jumped inwards.
 
Race 2: FTA ACCOUNTANTS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
TURF FLYER – Raced wide throughout.
 
ARTIE'S DESTINY – Tightened for room and had to check at the start when TESSELEIGHT jumped inwards. After being slow into stride, began to over-race approaching the 800m and had to be steadied from heels. Shifted wide passing the 600m and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NINE CIGARS – Jumped out at the start and bumped RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS.
 
RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Bumped on jumping and shifted out, inconveniencing ARTIE'S DESTINY which had to check. Raced in restricted room from the 600m until approaching the 400m. Shifted wider on the home turn to obtain clear running.
 
SPEEDY MACHO – Taken wider on the home turn when RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
CRAIGLEA LAKI – Apprentice Jockey L Barr reported that the mare was inclined to hang out for the majority of the event.
 
LAST LAUGH – Slow to begin.
 
TESSELEIGHT – Jumped inwards at the start causing ARTIE'S DESTINY to check. Raced wide throughout.
 
LIVELY LASS – On arrival to the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination at the request of the rider and was passed suitable to start.
 
Race 3: G3 ENGINEERING OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
 
FIRE KING – Slow to muster early speed.
 
Race 4: NANANGO BOOKMAKERS ASSOCIATION CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
MORDECAI – Slow to begin. Slow to muster speed. Held up for clear running from the 300m until passing the 200m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Trainer J King advised Stewards, that it was his intension to step MORDECAI up to 1400m after the gelding’s performance in today’s event.

RADIANT ROMANCE – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice Jockey N Olzard reported that the mare was inclined to hang out during the event.
 
KABALEGA – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MUSSEL LINES – Underwent a saddle adjustment at the barriers prior to the event.
 
Race 5: HERITAGE BANK NANANGO BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1600 Metres
 
ANTHROPICA – Began awkwardly.ANTHROPICA was inclined to race ungenerously with her head in the air for a short distance after the start.
 
CAPTAIN ULTRA – Fractious in the mounting yard and behind the barriers prior to the event. Weakened at the 500m and tailed off. Trainer T Haydon was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s prerace manners.
 
PERSIAN FRONT – Jockey K Gates was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip. Jockey Gates used her whip seven times before the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
READYENTIME – Slow to begin and slow to muster speed.
 
EVRYNOW'N'THEN – Improved on to heels approaching the 1300m and had to be steadied. Shifted wider and raced wide from that point until the 800m.
 
RODEO LEGEND – Stewards approved Jockey C Meehan to ride the gelding 1kg over the allotted weight. Slow to begin and slow to muster speed.
