Race 1: ANIPRO/BILL JOYNSON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60  HANDICAP 1000 METRES

ALBION SQUARE- T CHAMBERS- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Jky T Chambers advised Stewards that her mount wasn’t suited by today’s conditions and particularly resented the kick back. Stewards noted Jky Chambers comments.

JOEY JAWS- D BAKER- Slow to begin, raced wide for the majority.

ZUMA- APPR A GRAHAM- When leaving the 200m point elected to take a run to the inside of GRACIEDE then began to ease at the 100m point.  Stewards were of the opinion that when App Jky A Graham elected to take the run, the gelding wasn’t going well enough to sustain that run and felt there may not have been sufficient room on the inside of GRACIEDE for ZUMA to come through and although GRACIEDE did shift, it was a marginal shift having no effect on the outcome.

GRACIEDE- APPR O O’DONNELL- Leaving the 200m point shifted in marginally inconveniencing another runner.

RODIAN BULL- On returning to scale Appr Jky A Donald advised Stewards that the Mare didn’t appreciate the track conditions today and may have jarred up. Stewards will speak with Trainer P Richardson in coming days to seek advice on the Mare’s condition post-race day.

STRIVE TO SUCCEED- Appr L Sykes- Slow to begin, Appr Jky L Sykes advised Stewards that the horse wouldn’t go forward despite his best efforts to improve. He further added the track conditions, and the kickback may have contributed to his mounts seemingly poor performance today. Stewards noted Appr L Sykes comments.

Race 2: ARGUS BUILDER’S/ OWEN BRODIE MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 METRES

THE EDITORIAL- Began awkwardly.

MAHIGRANT- Slow to begin.

MISS THE BEANS- Raced wide for the majority of the event.

TEKAKWITHA- Began slowly and lost considerable ground after the start failed to go forward despite the best efforts of the rider. Stewards spoke with Jky L Miller and Stable representative M Johnson who advised Stewards this was the horse’s first start and when the mare got back early it was not suited by the dust and resented the kickback today. Stewards noted their respective comments.

Race 3:  TOPX/NUTRIEN/DAWSON RIVER PRODUCE/SAM BARLOW MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 METRES

THE STONE MASON- Lost ground at the 800m and failed to improve from that point. Post -Race Vet revealed no abnormalities. Jky T Chambers advised Stewards that her mount did not appear comfortable with the conditions and resented the kickback today. She also added the gelding was at the end of his preparation. Stewards noted Jky T Chambers comments.

AWESOME SPIRIT- Raced wide from the 800m for the majority of the event.

BETTER THAN ROSES- Bumped with ICE KITTEN on jumping.

COME CLEAN- Began awkwardly.

ICE KITTEN- Bumped with BETTER THAN ROSES on jumping. Raced wide with no cover for the majority.

STORMWATER- Raced wide for the majority.

Race 4: LEICHHARDT HOTEL/ BILL COGILL MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES

The start of this event was delayed due to VAHASH proving difficult to load.

COACH- Slow to begin then raced wide for the majority of the event.

MIRALIE- Raced wide for the majority.

VAHASH- Proved difficult to load Stewards spoke with Trainer B Waldron and Starter Mr T Campbell regarding the matter. Stewards after viewing the video available were of the opinion that the starter and staff had erred by not following the Starters Report process for the gelding. In which they did not have a rope only short webbing to use on the near side nor was the barrier blanked fitted correctly. Stewards took no further action. After beginning awkwardly, it then raced towards the rear of the field during the early stages then began to improve running on strongly over the final stages.

MY CERTAIN- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.

ADVERSARY- Slow to begin.

Race 5: TAROOM WELDING WORX/ DES JOHNSON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400 METRES

CADOUIN- Raced wide for the majority. Leaving the 200m had to ease off the heels of CONAIR.

CONAIR- Raced wide with no cover during the early stages.

DINNY’S A SUSPECT- Stewards spoke with Stable representative Trainer Mr J Byrne regarding the seemingly improved performance of the gelding today. Mr Byrne advised that the run at Warwick was okay in a stronger class. The Stable confident as it was back in class, worked very well between runs and they were expecting a forward showing at this meeting today. Stewards noted Mr Byrnes comments.

INSIDE INFORMATION- Raced wide with no cover for the majority.

INHISTIME- Raced wide.
