GENERAL

All riders at today’s meeting were breath tested and provided negative results.

Race 1: NEIL MANSELL CONCRETE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M

BARAKULA – Raced wide throughout. When questioned as to the improved performance, trainer J. Dann expressed some surprise that the gelding was able to win today, however added that in his opinion the gear changes made for tonight’s event were to the horse’s advantage. He further added that he felt the horse also benefited by having it runs spaced leading into tonight’s event and therefore he may adopt a similar pattern moving forward in the horse’s preparation.

ALL TROOPS – Slow to begin.

HEY MURRI – Laid in in the home straight.

JAI’S LUCK – Began awkwardly.

QUEEN OF THE ARK – M. Powell could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. Trainer B. Currie expressed disappointment with the performance of the mare, which was having its first start in his stable tonight. He added that the horse had had a long campaign prior to entering his stable and as such, based on the performance tonight, advised that he would send the horse for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

CONMIGO – Held up at the heels of a tiring runner and unable to improve from the 350m until the early stages of the home straight.

MAGIC RAELENE – Became unbalanced at the 800m, made contact with the running rail and as a result lost ground. Laid in in the home straight.

Race 2: BUNDABERG RUM CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1210M

DREAM FINNISH – Slow into stride. On returning to scale B. Newport reported that his mount raced a little greenly throughout the event and never travelled strongly on the bit. He added, however, that when placed under pressure in the home straight the filly ran on fairly.

ANGELICAN – Made contact with the running rail near the 900m.

HOT TESTA – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously with its head in the air for a short distance near the 900m. Raced wide throughout.

GOLD DEAL – Slow into stride.

Race 3: MITTYS CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1300M

HOLY TOLEDO – Raced wide throughout. Hung out throughout. A warning was placed on the horse’s racing manners.

WICKED BABE – Raced wide throughout.

RULING MISS – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Laid in over the concluding stages.

Race 4: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT BM75 H'CAP – 1050M

G’DAY OLD MATE – Bumped near the 100m.

EXTRA SHOT – Shifted in under pressure near the 100m and made contact with another runner.

Race 5: PLATINUM INTERNATIONAL F&M MAIDEN H'CAP – 1100M

LA MASCARA – Jumped away awkwardly. Steadied to avoid heels near the 900m and lost ground. Disappointed for a run near the 150m and forced to alter course to obtain clear running.

KYNANCE COVE – Raced wide with cover. Raced greenly in the home straight.

KERRY BLUE – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained near the 750m.

CROWN THE BOSS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

WHEN IN DOUBT – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.

SAGACIOUS ROSE – Laid in in the early stages. Raced ungenerously in the home straight.

Race 6: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY C,G&E MAIDEN H'CAP – 1110M

CRACK A COLDIE – S. Bogenhuber was reminded of her obligations regarding raising her whip arm above shoulder height.

DR DEEJAY – Slow to begin. Brushed the running rail near the 900m, shifted out abruptly, became unbalanced and made contact with another runner.

TWEEDIES – Bumped by another runner near the 900m. Stewards questioned rider K. Yoshida and trainer R. Lipp in relation to the horse’s seemingly disappointing performance. K. Yoshida could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the gelding, however advised that at no stage did it travel strongly throughout the event. Mr Lipp expressed disappointment with the performance, however advised that on returning to scale the horse appeared to have its tongue back, which may have contributed to the poor performance. Mr Lipp further advised that based on that he would add a tongue tie to the horse’s gear for its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
