L. Tarrant reported at scale that his mount refused to settle in the middle stages, particularly with the addition of blinkers today. Trainer G. Burns was questioned regarding the apparent change of tactics on the mare today. He stated that at its previous start the mare had got back in the field and he instructed his rider today to have it positioned more forward but did not expect it to be racing near the lead. Mr Burns was reminded that he must report any change of tactics to stewards no later than half an hour before the race.
