Began awkwardly and bumped shortly after. Raced wide for majority of the event. Jockey B. Thompson reported at scale that after beginning only fairly and being bumped by another runner, he settled further back than anticipated. He further added that the gelding raced greenly throughout, however, finished the race off fairly and would derive benefit from the race day experience. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying mild clinical signs of the thumps.
