When questioned re disappointing performance, Jockey B Thornton stated that after working hard early to obtain lead, he was hopeful of gaining some slow sectionals through the middle however when joined in the lead by STORMY LEO was obliged to travel stronger than intended. As a result was unable to finish as expected and proved disappointing. Post-race vet ex. revealed a poor post-race recovery rate.
