Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor reported that the mare travelled comfortably in the leading position until a point entering the home straight, however when asked to quicken the mare did so for only a short distance and was under pressure from the 300m. Apprentice Wilson-Taylor added that in his opinion the mare was also not suited by the firm racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be short striding in front, however no further abnormalities were detected.

Steward Comment

Slow to begin. Put in an awkward stride and became unbalanced near the 350m. Jockey M Du Plessis advised that in his opinion the mare was reluctant to stretch out on the firm racing surface when placed under pressure and in his opinion was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Connections advised that from the wide barrier it was the intention to ride the mare further back than at its most recent starts. Ridden accordingly.
