J. Orman reported that the horse did not respond when placed under pressure from the 600m and as he was concerned with its action he did not persist in riding it out, resulting in the horse finishing tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had poor post-race recovery. Trainer W. Nugent was advised that the horse must perform competitively in an official trial before being permitted to start again. Mr Nugent advised that the horse would be sent for an immediate spell.
